Tv coverage and at the game

edited March 2009 in General Charlton
1) ZZ goal should have stood just as I suspected at the time he was level when Bailey struck, Sky plus proved it. As for Tyldesley saying the Lino got it right sorry but he was wrong. That may have changed the game as we would have been 2-1 ahead
2)What did the ref see to award a penalty?
3) Feel desperately sorry for Matt Holland to get an OG the way he did?
4) Shelvy shirt pull where was that? As blatant a penalty as was theres!

Racon is stunning he touch, pass and engine were excellent. The guile shown by ZZ was impressive too and Spring put in a good shift.

We have an excellent midfield, what it all points too is that muppet Pardew did not assemble a decent back four with sufficient cover, something that many said at the start of the season. 65 goals conceded says it all.

Sadly don't think we can stay up given the Doncaster and Watford games but miracles do happen. With a 'get on your back when you losing after 10mins' home crowd as we have got it is no surprise we play better away

Ooooh, you'll be in trouble for "blaming the fans"! :-)
  • Well D it has to be said. To support means to get behind your team in good times and bad. we are going to see a lot more bad over the next few months
  • With you there, sir. I do fear what it'll be like when we go one down to Exeter City in our first home game of next season.
  • 2) Youga barged into the back of one of their players. Not easy to spot, but he did.

Thanks covered end, reckless Youga or a soft one given by the ref?
  • Reckless Youga but well spotted by the ref. Probably 9 times out of 10 he would have gotten away with it, because it either wouldn't have been spotted or not given, even if it was spotted.

I wish we got behind the team more but then what do you really expect? It's not been an easy time for supporters, has it? Right or wrong, it's the reality of modern football. It's not something that just affects us at all.

We pick up more points at home though

'' it is no surprise we play better away' ...

Do we - I don't get to many away games so what would I know...

But I can read and I see we have one only once in 20 attempts away from home this season and that Parky hasn't managed a single away win in the league since he took charge. So forgive me for being a little sceptical about that claim!

Can I suggest better examples than Charlton (5 home wins, 1 away) might by Southampton (3 home wins, 6 away) and Ipswich (6 home wins, 8 away) ?

And, by the way, looking at this home v away thing gives me great hope that we can score another home win v Preston next week. They are shocking away from home - in fact, we are the only team in the championship to have won fewer away games than they have!

Too little too late, of course, but three pts against them next Saturday would give us three wins in five home games...

Mind you with our luck this season 11 times out of 10 it would be given against us.
