Pardew on Radio 5 this afternoon...

edited March 2009 in General Charlton
Being asked for his 'expert opinion' on all matters football.

Having not been able to walk the walk, he is presumably trying to make a living doing the talking bit!

BTW he was introduced as 'ex West Ham manager Alan Pardew' - I wonder if he insists that they refer to him this way.

He wouldn't want reminding of his failure at Charlton and his fleecing of a club that he got relegated would he?

  • I never knew Alan Pardew used to manage West Ham - you'd think he'd talk about something like that a bit
  • He's on MOTD 2 now!

    What a joke
  • WTF is he doing on there? he has some front
  • He just said Essien 'raped' someone of the ball!

Can't say things like that on the bbc.....
  • cant believe he was on motd2, hansen shouldve started grilling the former west ham manager on the best way to put a club two divisions down
  • Sorry, but I don't go for all of this "he's relegated us twice" stuff.

If Parky has no blame for this season because of the mess he was left with then surely the same is true of Pardew the season he took over?

Alternatively they are both to blame - but you Can't have it both ways.

LMFAO...great work Inspector, still chuckling now.

What an absolute tool that bloke is.

  • He used that "raped" expression a lot. Always made me cringe. Surprised if the BBC didn't get any complaints.

And how predictable that MOTD2 had to dig out Pardew's goal v Liverpool in the cup semi. At least Hansen mentioned the 9 - 0 but so lame.
  • I've indignantly and disgustedly complained to the glorious Beeb. Given that the Beeb is a bit sensitive at the moment, any extra help from you guys in getting Pardew off my screen would be greatly appreciated.

    Well done, SA
  • Plus I posted on 606 in response to another posters 'rape' comment objection. All posts containing the word 'rape' have been removed as the word contravenes house rules!! So it would appear that Pardew is allowed to trivialise 'rape' and this is OK, but if I complain about it and use his quote, I'm considered offensive. Well done Beeb.

What an arse the ex West Ham United Football Club manager is!

  • Couldn't find it on the BBC page, but here's the resolution...

  • "The BBC apologised today after one of its football pundits compared a tackle by a Chelsea player to rape.

Alan Pardew, the former Charlton Athletic, West Ham and Reading manager, was describing a challenge by midfielder Michael Essien during Match Of The Day 2 on Sunday night.

After the Ghana international clattered into Manchester City midfielder Ched Evans, 47-year-old Pardew said: "He's a strong boy. He knocks him off - he absolutely rapes him."

No apology was made at the time, but the BBC issued a statement on Monday which said: "Alan Pardew apologises unconditionally for any offence caused by remarks he made in the Match of the Day 2 programme last night."

A total of 35 complaints have been received about the incident, the spokeswoman added.

Pardew is not one of the show's regular analysts, but is used from time to time.

The BBC said no decision had been made about whether he would be invited back on the programme after the incident. "

RESULT!!! Keep complaining and we won't see him again.
  • 'Raped' pretty much sums up his time with us.

  • Yeah, Carly, you gotta taste the irony.

If it means that we don't have to put up with his irksome mug on the box, then I hope he says it more often...
  • Jonathon Ross only had about 10 complaints before joe public got involved.......

Let's make it so he never works again!!!
  • he's on the setanta 'football matters' programmme after the west ham v west brom game tonight.
  • Done:

Having just watched last night's programme I would like to complain about the language used by Alan Pardew during his comments on one of the games. He referred to one of the tackles as 'rape': language which I find totally inappropriate for the BBC. I would ask that you refrain from using this presenter on any future occasion.

Let him try to earn his living as a manager.

did the same, its an outrage, worse than explicit swearing, do not employ this big nose joker again!
  • He's a pundit on Setanta right now.
  • "Although no decision has been made on whether to exclude Pardew permanently from the rota of ocassional pundits, insiders said it was safe to assume he would not be appearing on Match of the Day 2 for some time."

Good old Beeb, raise the licence fee, they're wonderful, impartial, brilliant, innovative and thankfully, very predictable. OK so what did the smarmy one say on Sultana that I can complain about?
  • LOL

"Let him try to earn his living as a manager"

    Nice one Jimmy!
  • in my phone when i tried to spell pardew it - it always spelt out raped first off.

A show source said: "It's highly unlikely Match of the Day viewers will see Alan Pardew back on their screens any time soon. It's safe to say he's not being invited back." His agent yesterday refused to comment.

    rapes him
