[cite]Posted By: Ledge[/cite]Mortarmerican - Good games under Dowie EH ???? :-)))
That's what I was thinking!!! I remember a 2-0 home win over Bolton, a 1-0 home win over Man City and a lucky 0-0 at Newcastle and, er, that's it!!!
to be fair he was only in charge for 12 prem games(including man utd , arsenal and chelsea) and 3 carling cup ties ( a club record 1/4 final appearance)..... but if that's long enough to judge him then so be it
I'm struggling to see why Parky is getting so much support. Agreed he hasn't had time to assemble his squad and no funds in January BUT it's his tactical inepiditude I can't see past. Over recent weeks away performances have defiantley improved but that is because we have gone back to 4-5-1, much derided under Pards but hailed by some under Parky, but that is because we have become more solid and harder to beat. However, in case no one has noticed, we have needed to win games and 4-5-1 has not improved our goalscoring. I go back to Swansea. The chance was there to win the game but instead of bringing on another striker to go for it he just swopped one for another. That continued at home to Donny, a must win, and at Reading and Wolves. It's ok coming back from an away game and saying we played well, deserved more but we've lost or drawn at best. Forest go to Reading and win, Plymouth to Wolves and win and yet we can't pull off a result like this all season. His subs have in the main been reactive not proactive and his h/t teamtalks obviously don't work judging by the number of h/t leads/draws we have subsequently given away. We can't keep saying it's all Pards fault, Parky has to take more than his fair share of the blame.
It'll be interesting if he stays to see how long those that advocate him staying allow him next season before saying enough is enough. Five games, ten games, twenty games ? Get off to a bad start next season and what crowd there is will get on his back and want him out. His position may then be untenable. Then we will be changing manager during a season and any chance of a first time promotion will definately be lost. Get a new man in at the end of the season and he'll have time to shape his squad during the Summer. If we have to shape a new squad for next season I'd rather it wasn't Parky doing it.
who knows what squad parky will have next year but the fact is he has done worse than any of us thought possible
still those who didn't rate him must be well pleased ...NOT
Phew..... thank god he was brought in to save us from relegation,eh! ........or, try and stop us being relegated......or hopefully we might avoid relegation.......or,well he has a good knowledge of the first division,....... yeah that was it! the cheap option....

Wrong. I didn't want him to fail. I just thought he would fail. I take no pleasure in the fact that he has.
the classic relegation fans quote
and basically what we all said on relegation from the Prem. That and new grounds to visit blah, blah, blah.
the cheap option....
