i missed the first bit when he came on. I only heard him talk about he was skippering the reserves when john barnes turned up at the training ground on his first day to play with them. Barnes was his hero so he said it was odd. the john barnes rap came on in the dressing room but barnes didnt get involved.
usual "it will be very difficult but were still giving it a go, goos spirit in the camp, good lads etc"
It's a kids show so not really taxing interview.
Said that when he did his ligament he didn't realise that he'd done it. Thought that maybe he'd trapped a nerve. Was stamping his foot on the ground to free the nerve but couldn't carry on.
Bit of banter with his pop star cousin and he threw the ball into the target at the end so Henry Jnr told me. I get some street cred, yeah really, in Henry Jnrs eyes having scored on Soccer AM.
I like Jon. Hope he can stay next season but he'll get other offers no doubt. Will have to see what those other offer are and if we can or want to keep him.
Will always be remembered for one goal but played a lot of games for us in the top flight over the years.
well brian, obviously at the end of the day it's a tough call to be honest, but taking all things into consideration at the end of the day, I've no doubt we will stay up, you know what I mean. At the end of the day, every game is a six-pointer, it's a big ask, but if we set our stall out, and keep going week in week out, and get the rub of the green, at the end of the day we will be safe. But to be honest, obviously we are taking each game as it comes, it's a very close division, and we intend to give 200%, we are going out there to win, on our day we can beat anyone, we are looking to get a result, and, we will take it as it comes.
Apologies Jon, you were much more sensible and intelligent than that.

Yeah he couldn't kick so he asked if he could do a 'Rory Delap' as he called it.
I agree I'd like to him to stay, if he does I doubt you'd see a better centre back in League One. Obviously on decent wages, signed a new contract just after Dowie came in.
Is it correct that his contract is up at the end of this season? Given the serious nature of his injury he is unlikely to be fit before Xmas, so is it possible that he might renew at Division One wages to enable him to get fit and put some money in our coffers if he moves on. The alternative would be as a free agent but overcoming an injury so no wages and no club facilities to recuperate.
Yeah it is. He signed a new 3 year deal when Dowie came in. He'd be fit early on in the season wouldn't he?
As I said I thought he meant 6 months overall, maybe he meant 6 months from now though.
Just found this from the OS
"Nicola, who operated on Harry Arter's Achilles injury last summer, operated on Jon under local anaesthetic, so Jon was awake throughout. Jon will be in plaster for 10 days and then goes into a walking boot. His estimated time of recovery is four and a half months, which is pretty quick for that type of injury."
Four and a half months, but they said that back in February. That would mean he'd start training again in June/July.

Kano was more certain than Forts that we'd stay up, though .... but Forts came across as proper Charlton, after his 10 years or so here. Sound bloke.
We need to find out more .... for example, in the dressing room, exactly how bad is Matty Holland's taste in music?
What d'you reckon ... ?
;o)
Is he really of good judge of taste?
