My view of when it started to go wrong

Whe we got our kit made by Joma. Think it has been a steady decline ever since we paired up with them (ok it was about the same time Parker left but...)

Hope we get rid of the Bok manufacturer.

  • It was about the same time as this website was formed ;o)
  • Selling Andy Reid was the turning point for me. Aah bollocks...

We were well in the shit before he joined us!!!
  • The day after I left for Canada. We had won 6 out of the first 8 games of the 05/06 season.

Then I buggered off over here, we the won 1 in the next 9. Curbs got the hump & left at the end of the season & the rest is history :(
  • Really? I seem to remember that the sh"t we're currently in hadn't even been forecast when he joined us? The sale of Andy Reid to Sunderland was a turning point in the Board's decisions. It was a negative decision?

Do us a favour Oakster - Move back at least until we're back in the 2nd Div again ;o)
  • I lost my lucky st christopher medal in 2006 my fault sorry ...
  • It was when my lucky green pants (as worn at every game in the 97/98 promotion season) finally fell apart.

They were washed after every game, just in case anyone was worried.
  • I agree this website and Joma
  • Sponsored links:

  • It was when the banners went up.
  • All gone downhill since we signed Cory Gibbs :(
  • The joma strip was worn in 03/04 Charltons highest finish in 50 years so I don't think it's that although I have to say a different kit manufacturer would be nice, joma's kits generally look like a group of 4 year old's have been left with crayons and told to design a football kit. This season they got to play in that strip!
  • The end of Sue Townsend's tenure as fans' director was the turning point :-)
  • I blame Curbs for making us punch above our weight.. it was inevitable when he left we'd go flat

    I blame:
Every Addick who ever has got behind their club,
    Lennie Lawrence,
The forming of The Valley Party,
Roger Alwen and the earlier directors then Richard Murray, Martin Simons et al,
    Back to The Valley,
    Curbs of course,
    Wembley 98,
Every player proud to wear the shirt and everybody else for once making it Fortress Valley.

If none of that had happened - we may never have had a story at all during the last 20 years.
