Who goes with Hudson?

Holland?
Basey (based on reserve game)?
ZZ?
Mambo (what number does he play?)?
Youga (and Basey LB)?

  • According to reported remarks by Kinsella it's between Holland and Youga...

Holland, Youga as back up. Would have been Semedo after Holland if he was fit.
  • Please god not Youga.

    Ebanks Blake v Youga
  • Holland - unless we can get a CB in on-loan.

Maybe move Butterfield inside and play Mou2 at RB?

I suspect it'll be Matt Holland though. Expect long balls pumped into the box aimed at Ebanks-Blake...

More likely Iwelumo to flick onto Ebanks-Blake to run onto?
  • In another thread (concerning Douala) the News Shopper states that Holland is favourite to partner Hudson . Holland v. Iwelumo: interesting.
  • Big Chris has been on the bench quite a lot lately, and when he did start last match, he was subbed after 57 minutes.

It's Sylvia Ebay-Blanks that we've got to watch .... a bit of trickery and lightening acceleration. So we need a fairly pacy player at the back like Fortune - if only.

Hudson's got the acceleration of a double-decker bus, so he's best marking Iwelumo if he starts
Holland is still reasonably sharp over that 1st half yard, so he'd take SEB or nippy Sam Vokes.

Kinsella said that Holland's favourite, but I guess it also depends on who our management thinks will start up front for Wolves?

Youga is probably pencilled in as emergency 'if all else fails' CB cover - but anyone notice that in the reserves fixture against Jills, Pacy-Basey started at centre back ...?

And he'll no doubt be on the bench.

(see this manager's job is easy....*big smiley winky thingy*)
  • After his showing in the reserves, Basey should get the nod at centre-half.

Problem is his height means he wont be getting the nod too often....:o)

Only because we had no one else. Thomas was unavailable. Basey, Solly and Moutaouakil all needed a game, so one of them had to play CB.

    Okay, but Solar said:

Did that mean Basey looked comfortable and played well?

Over to you Mr Solar, please ?
  • IMHO Basey was both comfortable and commanding at centre-back. He read the game well, called loud and clear and won most headers. He also distributed well from the ground, and helped to marshall both Yado Mambo - who also played well- and the back four with Yassin and Solly at full back.

Given that he may not be fast enough to play left-back, nor perhaps left midfield, he was/could be solid at centre-back.
He's also 'bigger' than Holland or Youga for the purpose
  • Thanks, Solar ......that's really quite encouraging.

So there we are: a talking, commanding, ballplaying centreback - but not pacy..
