Special Agent Butterfield

Out of position, slow to close down, invited pressure, poor in the tackle and utterly responsible for all three goals conceded today. He was, in a word, SHIT.

Just how bad in Moo2 if this is as good a replacement we can come up with?

Fucking shit, absolutely fucking shit. He should never see the inside of a Charlton shirt again.

if we sign more palace players on loan could we sing next year " we took the palace down"

the loans that have come in over the last two seasons is the best example of headless management at all levels
  • he's no paolo maldini, that's for sure

when he first arrived at palace 7 or 8 years ago he was a great young attacking left back. when we (palace) went up in 04 we bought emmerson boyce who was just so much better. injuries have taken their toll on butterfield too. this season when he has played he's been on as a sub in centre mid and done okish

what the hell you're doing signing so many ex palace players and taking butts on loan i don't know. madness
  • Terrible.

    Exactly!
  • I hate to say that of the five I've seen play in that position this season - Semedo, Moots, Cranie, Murty and now Butterfield - he's easily the worst...

and in best to worst order IMHO: Murty, Moots, Semedo, Cranie, ......................... Butterfield

What - Butterfield a left back - playing in the RB position for us - no wonder why he keeps drifting towards the centre........
  • edit - i meant butterfield was an exciting attacking right back - and the attacking part of his game is still fine, but defensively he gets caught out loads and loads

which i guess is what you discovered today

i thought you were just starting to turn it around with murty at right back and soares in midfield - but you're obsession with loan players has been at least part of your downfall

at least you'll have the odd derby next year to look forward to - if you can look forward to a game against millwall.

There isn't much left to smash up though so I'm not worried about that!

We've all said Butterfield has past his best. Injuries really did get the better of him and I can see you've all realised how bad his positioning is defensively, he rarely man marks.

Not that any of you will care but he is a top bloke and good to have in the dressing room, whether he's the best right back at your club is another matter!
