  • You're home early.

    Don't blame you.
  • when will it fking end ?
  • After 46 games. The agony continues.

    Don't miss next week's exciting instalment .......
  • Oggy, the agony is over.

I really rather enjoyed the game today - because the result no longer mattered much.

We saw four really good goals (obviously I'm excluding Hudson's howler), some decent passing from both sides and the rare spectacle of a Charlton striker getting on the score sheet (twice!).

But agony? No, that's gone, mate. We're going down - not in 22nd place or 23rd place but in 24th place.

Parky's done his best - as he always did as a player. Honourable, solid journeyman stuff. But that is nowhere near enough, is it? Just look at his stats - a woeful 11 pts from 18 games. But he might well do a good job in division three - which is surely Parky's natural level.

    Which one?
  • No Parky must go...some terrible decisions...the 1 up front for home games is baffling....leaving Dickson and Shelvey out of the squad today....no sub when 1-1 at Barnsley and we could have pushed for a winner...I can go on and on. His record is dire and I have no confidence in him. He was a journeyman player and deserves to be at a journeyman club...surely we are above that.......

    Agreed totally.......

Sadly , I think not. Tthat is exactly what we have become.
  • Today i witnessed a game played by two very poor sides. The final result was a little harsh on Charlton, i thought a 2 - 2 draw would have been fair.
Four goals came from terrible defending. Rasiak's goal was superb.
It was good to see a Charlton 'striker' (Kandol) score (twice) But even he faded badly second-half.
We are going down and deservedly so, our record is disgraceful.
The club claimed an attendance of 20,052 (as ever) In reality there was aroud 15,000 present. i make this judgement on what i saw in the ground. But have to say the whole area around Charlton was quiet. The journey and parking simple. The streets were human congestion free. Even the East-stand Karzi's were queueless. The Bugle Horn was all but empty at 14.30.
I dread to think what next season will bring, i fear another relegation battle.
Parkinson has to go at the season's end. New season new manager.

I can understand leaving Shelvey out simply because it is asking a lot of a boy of just 17 to play 3 Championship games in a week.

Dickson is more puzzling given how well he played with Kandol against Plymouth.

  • I agree with Dags that it was very quiet in SE7 - easiest parking and quickest get away I can remember in ages. Claims of 20,052 are risible. In west upper blocks J and K there were more empty seats around me than occupied ones.

I thought four of the five goals were well worked and very well taken - with Rasiak's exquisite finish the pick of them. Seldom heard the ground so quiet when the goal went in.

But it wasn't a stunned silence - just total resignation . Even when we were leading 2-1, a section of our crowd was singing at the Watford fans : ''You're going down with the Charlton'''.

But Parky's going nowhere - and he'll probably be a decent manager in div three, even though he's so obviously out of his depth in the Championship.
  • And i agree with 'nigel w' re. the total resignation (to our fate) The crowd at no time got on the players backs. Though we were very quiet throughout. There was no booing. Until after the final whistle, and even that was very muted.

I didn''t get that one either Len.....i'm really worried about what players we will have left after the mass exodus that will happen between May and August :(

So what were the Covered End chanting if it wasn't "Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit", after Watford scored their first goal then? And there was booing after a defensive cock-up not long afterwards. We as fans were just as crap as the team yesterday.
  • If you are correct about the 'shit' chant Ali, i can only say in the East-stand i was not aware of it. In my own defence i am hearing impaired and don't hear as clearly as you. As for booing, there was no sustained booing, of that i'm fairly sure.
  • I sat in the east stand ysterday and heard it loud and clear, shit shit shit then the booing after that cock up... i couldnt believe it. next minute they are cheering. we have some right melts that support our club. but i suppose as we are a shit team we have the right to be shit supporters.
  • I just shook my head when that came from the back of J block yesterday, then I just smirked when they were all happy when we went 2-1 up.

Anyway, sod football, had a quality night out last night, and now nursing a poorly gf with a hangover. Hoorah!
