Congratulations Eddie Youds

I thought you might like to know that Eddie Youds, that warhorse of yesteryear and resident of Blackheath, has become a father for the first time at the grand old age of nearly 39! His partner, local girl Vic, had a baby girl yesterday who they have named Isobel. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Do you think, he will wet the baby's head? ;-0)
  • Good luck to the guy, always seemed to give 100%, wish him the best and his wife,

How I wish we had a few like him now!
  • Met him once in a pub in Bexleyheath after a bad result - top bloke and didn't mind us chatting to him on his night out. Must say he looked a tough cookie!
  • One of the greatest faces to ever play for us FACT! always up for a chat about the good times, top bloke.
worked with one of his past loves, a scouse bird called Vic who was a spark, wonder if it is the same Vic
  • Top fella - cracking player- and one of the old skool.

Have to say since Mark Kinsella and Powelly, those types have been noticeable for their absence.

Saying that, Bailey looks like one who might work out like that. Bloody hell, Friday night, half cut and you have to pinch yourself to see us in this postition.

    Shit happens tho....
  • Congratulations Eddie! Plenty of celebratory drinks in Blackheath to follow I'm sure................

GHE - Not the same Vic! She's local and a friend of my family, which is how I know about the baby. Eddie is besotted and he will be out wetting the baby's head this weekend , I am sure! He's also doing his badges and aiming to get back into the game in some capacity or other.
  • Saw him in The Auctioneer in Greenwich some years back with Sir Clive Mendonca. Must have seen us staring and came over and said I suppose you want to talk to Clive. Went and dragged him over and to their credit they spent the next hour chatting which was fantastic. Both top men. Congrats Mr and Mrs Youds.
  • One of Curbs best signings. Really toughened up the side and was a big influence on us in the run in.

What would we give to have someone like him playing for us now.

  • absolutely loved him cracking player, even with his dodgy knee i would rather him than Hudson
  • Loved him as a player. Wasn't he one of the six central defenders for Ipswich when Man U beat them 7-0???

To think we had Barness, Brown, Youds, Bowen, Rufus, Mills and Chapple all vying for places. Anyone of thos players is more consistent & committed than our ridiculously over-paid dross. And they say modern footballers are better! Pah. Even rubbish teams ten years ago had a few players that were good with metal. Irregardless of our team, very few champ teams have anyone as good as the above mentioned.

Congrats to Eddie, he was a great solid player who fully earned every £.
  • Agreed, top man: congrats.
