We will be there, as someone said on another thread its the team we support not the division, in a funny sort of way I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders after the defeat Tuesday night, I am certain we are down now so we may as well enjoy the remainder of season and look to next year.
[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]yep lose to man utd and go home and watch it again on MOTD or lose to doncaster it's a tough one.......................................
not really we had a chance against Doncaster, when was the last time we had a chance against Man U.
Still i'm sure we could stay on the roundabout with you all day on this but i'm starting to get dizzy.
50/50 tomorrow will see what the morning brings. my head says dont go but i'm sure by the morning i'll have the buzz back to go as i cant stand watching SS knowing i should be there.
each to their own but give me one 4-2 away victory over arsenal over fifty 2-0's against plymouth
and the 3-3 with man utd will live long in my memory.... as for the last two seasons can't think of any that will be talked about in twenty minutes time never mind twenty years time

The only thing i can think of is Chrissy Powell on the final day.

[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]i'm going i know the quality of football will be poor( we were spoiled in the curbs era)
going for a meal in the ground with friends gonna get hammered and reminisce (bore the pants off everyone) about the good old days when we used to be decent and play the big clubs like man utd, arsenal, liverpool etc
Boring zzzzzzz
indeed. I used to dread going to football when we were playing the likes of Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool as there was more chance we would get spanked, and more chance of getting it ripped out of us because we'd be on match of the day. I used to read the teamsheets and then say "oh its ok, rooney's only on the bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" not saying i wouldn't want to be up there again, but football was definately a different experience, and not sure if it was better or worse in more ways than one.
Whereas now we get spanked at home by the likes of Doncaster, Barnsley, Bristol city and Sheffield United, and get it ripped out of us because we're bottom of the championship below teams who were in league two 3 seasons ago. How can you possibly question what is worse?!

well we have a chance next year to beat the likes of hartlepool and wycombe. and possibly even make progress in the paint trophy.
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]the difference is I have belief and optimism that we 'could' win. I used to dread some prem games cos i 'knew' we wouldn't win.
not saying i wouldn't swap, but i have mixed feelings about it.
Likewise but then we unexpectedly did win or nick a point and I felt a million dollars.
I've not enjoyed the Championship as much perhaps because I saw years of second division football before.

I dissagree Len. Obviously only an idiot would turn up for a match against one of the big boys expecting us to win but for most of the time in the top flight I alwasy believed we had a chance and, occassionally, we took it and did put in a performance against them. Only during our regular end of season slump did I go expecting us to lose...

Suz, do we really expect us to win every game though? I saw us as underdogs against Doncaster.
I agree that, towards of the end of the Prem years, playing Man Utd, Chelsea and the like became a chore because Curbs (rightly or wrongly) chose to play completely defensively which usually meant a 3-0 or a 4-0 defeat. But it's much more of a chore against the likes of Barnsley and Coventry.
I think the biggest problem is that, whatever way you dress it up, tomorrow is the first of 10 dead games and even if we win 8-0 I won't care because we're still going down. The same as if we'd scored a last minute equalizer on Tuesday it wouldn't really have mattered because we had to win. Every game in the Premiership bar the last couple (after we were relegated) mattered.
In saying that it's the first home game I've missed in about four seasons and that's only because it's my daughter's Birthday party.
I am going and in order to do so, I will have at least an hour and a halfs extra journey time from and to Norwich because my wife is out tonight before I get back and I have to drop my daughter off to my in laws in Kent before the game and pick her up after the game.

I am also going to Reading.
I don't care. I support the club and the team.
Exactly, if everyone took the attitude "what's the point we're down" and didn't go today, the attendance would be a big fat zero.

Was referring to the vermin such as Dicko, WSS etc, rather than your good self cockers ;-)

oh yes a true legend from an era of english internationals and top class football you have to love SIR CHRIS OF POWELL
'Oh and it's dropped for CHRIS POWELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL'
Agreed
