Why do it to yoursleves?

edited March 2009 in General Charlton
Ok so we are royally fooked at the moment, and as proven through tracking through tons of threads any form of opinion is fallen upon by people (which is ok, that's what a forums all about) whether they disagree, which is the view that prompts most posts, as opposed to those in agreement. But Y o Y do we feed of each others opposing views to call each other wankers and have not so sly digs? I really don't understand.

I went down the valley last night, we deserved to get beat, and to my surprise, its like the vitriol of the last 15 or so weeks has been turned up to gas mark 11 again.

Why is anybody so "pat from eltham" about this occurence?

We are without any debate, shite.

We are going down, so write your messages to the Charlton board on here, you don't think they already clearly know what you are telling them? of course they do!

What would you do, seriously how would you as an individual turn it around? just accept it, we are going down.

A couple of draws and a win in 3 doesn't make but a jot of difference, none of this makes me smug, or happy or whatever you want to call it, but we are down.

A bit of a fight to the end of the season, a huge debate over why this person or that person is or is not renewing their ST, but come on, we will be here in 2009/10

It's not blind faith, it's not mis-guided stupid football fan optimism, but we have to get behind them no matter how many years you have invested, not matter how much money you have spent, no matter how many sleepness nights they have caused you, because it's what we do. At the end, it's your decision, if you are that fucked off, then go away, stop killing your own happiness every 3 to 7 days, you really do deserve better than that....but please, if you want to stick around, welcome my friend

Please please have faith, because without it, we might as well all turn up before a game in the Macros carpark and have a big fight to see who is the most right, and that my fellow addicks really does defeat the point of whilst we are here...........

soap box to one side........and so to bed

  • I don't come on here to read well thought out and sensible posts like this without even the tinniest wind up or rant factor.

    Please stop it now : - )

shut up ye fecking wanker, who said you could have an opinion :-)
  • From my reading of fatkit's post, he is saying that this board can (and maybe even should) be the outlet for different opinions when we find ourselves in a situation like this - as long as it doesn't degenerate into personal abuse. At the moment it doesn't feel like this is the situation - personal abuse against people expressing minority opinions is tolerated. I've been on the receiving end on here of what felt like bullying to me when I dared to express a strong and heartfelt opinion about Pardew fourteen months ago. I left this forum for a couple of months after that. In the end most on here came round to a similar view...I was just naive enough to think it was OK to say what I was feeling on here 'ahead of the curve'.

Everyone is hurting, everyone is angry, but just because you express doubts about a player or member of the baord doesn't mean you are on a wind up or have a destructive agenda (though I appreciate the moderators do sometimes have to cope with this). I disagree strongly with the negative view on Shelvey, I still have some faith that Chris Dickson might come good, I am less convinced by Matthew Spring. I agree that Richard Murray and the board have got us into a mess, but I also know that they will be hurting more than any of us, and for that reason my heart goes out to them them. Let's allow each other to let some of the emotion out on our keyboards, not on each other, even when we disagree.
  • Well Weegie I agree with ever single word of your thread.
