Responsible Forumming

Saw this the other day and on the back of a couple of things said about players on here, I thought it might interest some and maybe make a few of us think about what we type given that a number of our players as well as club staff and board are all over this board.

Summary Clark Carlisle responds to incorrect rumours on a Burnley forum in a thought provoking way, then goes on to give curry recommendations

Condensed Summary: Footballers are people too.

  • Very good post.
  • What has been said about Charlton players then ... ?
  • Nothing specific or in any way like what was levelled at CC, but (and I've done it) the interweb is a fine old place to throw out the odd supposition here and there. People do say things about our players on here which may or may not be true. Gutter press are starting to use these forums as a source for their bile, so it made me think.

In amongst all the seriousness this made me chuckle:
[cite]Posted By: A Burnley Fan[/cite]I saw Clarke in Toys r'us in Birstall before Christmas and can confirm that he seemed sober

Plenty has been said about Ambrose.
  • Plenty's been said about various people since I posted it, most of it false or speculation. So it was a waste of fking time. Somebody will sues for libel one day
  • A good post by the player, and a good thread on this board as well. My compliments for posting that. If this thread continues, I am sure that it will degrade into comments about how much money athletes make and the like, but it is good to be reminded that they are flesh and blood, with problems like the rest of us, and skin no thicker than ours...
