you'd need a tractor to pick Reo-Coker up! no thanks to getting him in.0

Fair enough. A compelling argument for now. Still not convinced that Cat2 academies will be financially viable in future if financial recompense is not improved but we will see.Swisdom said:
Copied from the Callum Harriott threadAthletico Charlton said:Saw 40 unread rumour rumour messages and got excited about a potential new signing. Depressing reading another of our kids has gone. When did our plan re CAT status change, before the new owners or just recently.
Don't understand why we have spent so much on likes of Hart if we plan on staying CAT 2. Sale of Palmer or this other lad prob only cover his 1yr pay so what's the point.
There was a lot of negativity that another of our starlets was poached earlier this week but perversely it's a fabulous advertisement for local kids to come to our academy as opposed to going to one of the big boys from day one.
Sadly it's to be expected that we will lose some players along the way to the big boys as they can turn their heads financially - but as and when we become one of the big boys.....the hunted becomes the hunter.
We will thenhave the advantage of already having the great staff and, seemingly great, players at the club and could go on to something special.
The two lads who have recently departed (whose names I honestly can't currently recall) may go on and be world beaters.....or as is more likely may go on and do the chief sum of nothing on a football pitch but just have a nice car on their driveway for a couple of years while they try to make it.0 -
The upside of the EPPP is that each FL club gets a lump sum every season (about £2m I think).
I think for a lot of clubs £2m in the hand guarenteed every year was better than maybe a nice transfer fee if they found a good kid and could flog him every two or three seasons.0 -
Shaun Wright Phillips maybe in on season-long loan.0

Is that a rumour (hehe) or you are hoping we sign this player wheresmeticket ?0

I thought it was £2m. RM said £300k last night so one of us is wrong and most likely the one who isn't a director of the Club : - )Covered End said:

Do we really still owe Crewe some money on that one? ;-)0

Alan Judge, the club has already spoken to him.Ipswich in the frame as well.Out of contract in July.0
-
If judge is a left winger, where does that leave Harriott?0

judge can play accross the midfield i thinkGreenie Junior said:If judge is a left winger, where does that leave Harriott?

Judge is more attacking mid, playing behind the strikers. Scored a 30 yarder at The Valley last season. Very good player and in team of the season. Would be excellent on a free. We all know Powell has watched him a number of times this season.0
-
Judge seems like a nice chap on twitter. A Charlton type player as opposed to a billy big spuds
Only 5'6" though...0 - Sponsored links:

Archie edwards may not have fancied the move and could well be staying put
Great news if confirmed
Well done young man if what i heard this evening is true0 -
I hope that's true. Heard he's a great prospect. We readily critisise young lads for chasing glory but if this young man stays put it shows great courage and inspired decision making. Fingers crossed on this one.nth london addick said:Archie edwards may not have fancied the move and could well be staying put

Typical, Jimenez probably been too greedy again.0

Most likely one of those thick West Spammers getting it all wrong : - )
Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even Man utd but City instead!
Still, good news regardless if turns out to be true.0 -
Lol morts i get the feeling this was to do with the lad himself
Lets wait and see the kid is mustard but young and has a real chance and a better one with us to start his career and turn the talent and prospect into reality

He will be playing in the semifinal of the cup for Charlton tomorrow
Edited.....Saturday not tomorrow. Losing track of days0 -
I have never seen the lad play but put a smile on my face to hear he may be staying, from what I have read he sounds a real prospect.0
