Parky preferred Eubanks-Blake but Pardew went for Gray.
TBF to Pardew, which goes against the grain, SEB was up on a GBH charge at the time so he was a risk.
Eubanks-Blake and Iwelumo up top. Same partnership that took Wolves up. : - (
I didn't know that. SEB is an excellent champ striker. Although I thought BWP would go on to be better. I remember Pardew saying he'd do anything to get Gray at the Valley.
Col U fans have been pretty critical of Wordsworth this season. Seems he's stayed too long. I wonder if he was one of the players on CP's summer transfer list, that was binned because of financial problems?
Asked my colleague at work who's a Colchester fan about Wordsworth. He reckons rumour definitely has legs in it, simply because we've been linked with him for the last year or so.
He wouldn't be too sad to see him go. Says he is different class when on top of his game, way too good for Colchester. But he's too inconsistent, his head doesn't work as fast as his feet, and he sometimes misses the simple stuff that makes the basis of a good player. But his recent poor form could just be because Colchester aren't very good and he knows it. Could shine in a decent Championship side.
Perhaps most interestingly of all, says he's best in the middle dictating play. Wasted out wide.
So if it does come off, seems more likely to be competition/replacement for Stephens, rather than an option on the left.

He wasn't on the list reported by some in the know on here. The winger on that list was Stephen Quinn.
He's a proper playmaker. Quite a big lad too. I've wanted Wordsworth for a while - in the same way I wanted Johnnie Jackson and Andy Reid before they signed. I really think he'll be good for us and this excites me
Wow thats odd SHG if you did that by accident as its has been confirmed today that their guitarist Wilko Johnson has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
I'd be happy with Wordsworth signing. Young, hungry, not injury prone, scores goals, free kick specialist and penalty taker. He has all the attributes of a Curbs-type Charlton player.
Most recently followed at the top. So you've got CAFCOfficial, Charlton News and Ben Hamer all in the most recent four. It's looking like there's something in this one.

Heard a rumour that Millwall are after him though.

Edit: Just seen the other thread.
Not necessarily better but younger.I think the two could play together.Like Swisdom this signing would excite me.
