It is August 2009 and Charlton are about to play the first game of the season. You don't need me to remind you what an incredible finish to last season we had, how everything was decided on the last day of the season. It now seems a long, long time ago, back in May 2009 when we finished the season in that incredible match against Norwich at The Valley. It was quite an emotional day, I'm sure you'll agree.
But now onto more mundane matters. Can you please name Charlton's starting XI for the first game of the 2009-10 season? And remind me who the opponents are? And which division are we in?

In the summer we will part with Gray, Burton, Todorov, Weaver, ZZ, Ambrose
We will sign some good young promising youngsters
We will play lovely football and finish around the play off places. We will earn lots of plaudits for our football ethic and we will launch an assault on the title the following year - only to be pipped to the post by Sheffield United.
And so begins our premiership journey again
more like it.
Ticket prices are £25 premium, £20 standard and £15 value but some season tickets are still available.
Charlton haven't faced the Hatters at the Valley since Andy Hunt's hat trick gave the home side victory in a 4 - 0 win in 1999 as the fans sang "it's just like watching Milan" (sic)
Charlton boss Parkinsella has now fully recovered from his ground breaking surgery which saw the club's two senior coaches, Phil Parkinson and Mark Kinsella, merged into one person with a vital injection of DNA from Jimmy Seed and Lennie Lawrence. In recognition of this the Red Red Robin will be replaced for this game only by Blue Mink's 1972 pop/soul classic "melting pot".
Indications from the unbeaten pre-season games suggest that the starting line up will be

Fans want to see Solly involved more of after an impressive pre-season, especially after new right back's mistakes in the home friendly the week before.
Lloyd Sam got injured in pre-season and is out for a month.
Todorov, Ambrose, Zheng were all released, Holland was a mystery for a month or so but eventually left. Semedo joined a European club on loan for 6 months with a view to a permanent transfer. Moutaouakil went back to France for £150k plus £50k for future appearances.
Shelvey has been left out after a very good pre-season in which he was our top scorer, after 3 Premier League clubs began negotiations with the club.
Fortune left on a free to join Watford. Hudson moved to Coventry for £400k. Andy Gray signed for Preston for £200k.
On the Wednesday after the game Rashid Yussuff joined Brighton, now in League Two, on loan for a month.
And yeah Bi has definitely signed for Standard Liege.
