Looked like that Rhydian guy from the X Factor with that dodgy barnet!

  • Holds on to centre forwards a little too much - but knows where Row Z is and won a lot in the (h)air !
  • he was w**k and weak

Won a few no follow up or decent challanges did not want to get dirty
  • Blimey leftbehind ! I thought Ward looked good. Was going to say that I hope we could hang onto him !
  • I thought he did ok too to be honest and as Hudson had an awful first 20 minutes, it was lucky we had another recognised centre half on the pitch!

Dunno a couple of header he won but what else, not going to get totally down on him as his new and needs time to gel we will see
  • We won ...... jeeez
  • yep Hudson started of shaky but did better in second half.I thought Rydian done well
  • Thought he did all he had to, nothing outstanding but Plymouth weren't great going forward anyway.
  • He does a lot of talking at the back. He looked like the captain in the second half telling Hudson what to do.
  • f*** me we keep a clean sheet and still some not happy - spurs of the championship LOL

  • He's just another standard Championship centre back. On his day he's solid and doesn't let anything past him, at his worst everyone says he lacks pace, has the turning speed of an oil tanker and lacks concentration. It's what people have said about Hudson and McCarthy and Ward looks a similar player.
  • In the absence of Fortune we need a centre back with height and he fits the bill.

He isn't a Rufus but equally he's not a Peter Shaw.

    Scoham sums it up well.

So he's new, needs time to gel and you're not going to get totally down on him.

If you call him "W**k and weak" despite all that then I'd had to read any of your posts when you are really going for someone.

We won mate. Give the lads a break, eh?
  • Thought he did well myself.
  • looked solid Hudson was worse than him and yet they all did well no negatives from me we started poorly and grew into a performance that was worthy of the entrance fee but why oh why do people that are not old and infirm or who have kids and dont want to be caught in the q of people getting down the stairs leave so fecking Early

We have been shit of larte wait till the end and show your appreciation for effort

Up at places like Barnsley he'll add that bit of steel we need.
I thoght we looked a much more aggressive team all round .
  • I thought 1st half both sides looked, as they were.lacking in confidence and co-ordination across the park, as the game progressed you could see our confidence growing until we looked like a team on top of its game. The challenge for Parky is to keep that confidence high during the week and take it to an away game next week.
  • he played well thought the bloke looked solid

He's the best we have at the moment so what's the point in knocking him
  • Agree that he is more solid but his positioning for goalkicks coming at him is a bit whiffy - you can see him being twisted to head the ball and not able to get it full on. Hudson has the same problem - Fortune is good at this but his main weakness is his inability to direct the ball to another red shirt - anywhere would do for him... :(
We have always had this heading problem even when we were in the Prem - remember HH and his wayward headers....

  • I thought he played well, I'd liked to know the stats on how many headers he got to.

Apparently John Terry wants to leave Chelsea, maybe we could get him on-loan? If only our board were more ambitious...

Until we have the money to buy in a decent centre-back Ward is the best we are going to get.
  • I thought he got his head to most stuff and he put in a solid performance. I couldn't see much wrong with it to be honest.
On the way home someone on the radio made a good point we have 3 ex or current captains in the back 4 so we should have a bit of character in there.
I think that's pretty shrewd from Parky.

Yeah I think it's now much closer to his kind of team. Before we were mainly a team of younger players, not enough leaders, experienced players to go with them to get the right balance.
  • Ward was one of our best players he won more headers than Hudson has in the season
  • Quadraphenia - Ace (sting) or Toya Wilcox?
