Please explain the following [img] and more.

Have noticed these cropping up in posts, please explain in layman's terms.

[/1] [b] [/u] [img]

Sorry for not being up to speed on these matters but would like to know why they are being used?

    Well, the b is for bold type.

    The U for underline

    The img for image (when you attach a photo.

    Dunno anout the /1 - but something along the same lines.

    When you add comments, you select BBCode and choose from the row of Bold, Italics, Underline, etc

    But when people don't quote correctly (like when their are in Text rather than BBCode) then you get exactly what you described.

    How's that from an old git technophobe .... ?
