Well, between Richard I and Richard III there were a good few years mate - but it's only 5 mins on the chuff and another 5 by foot from the station. Was there by 3pm - on the "Special".
Yes, it was great to meet some old faces (no, I am not picking on you Henry!) and some new faces (Latimer, Ms Latimer, 04, Inspector Sands, F Blocker). In this time of great depression for all of us I just want to wish you all a very merry Xmas and let's all hope for better things in the New Year.
Hello to all I met especially Les says, badger, Ketman and Mrs Red Pete who I met in person for the first time. If the others were there sorry, didn't realise it was you. Didn't see a dodgy cross dresser but managed to have a pop at a certain supporters' club person on the way back from the loo. Danny, I owe you a drink.
Good to see so many familiar faces but just reminded me why I drink in the Liberal club. Soo crowded. Last time but one I drank in the Oak at a game was V palace when they handed out the "we're going to Selhurst" Leaflets". Not sure why we were there as we didn't normally drink there. Last time was 5/12/92 and it wasn't that packed. Think it was ticket only for people who'd been painting the Valley etc.
Joe seemed to enjoy himself. I don't think it will be the last time he makes it into the Oak. When he is a 17 year old 'erbert at away games I expect you lot to show him the proper way to act. Then again maybe that is a bad idea. ;-)
At least when he is that old he can say he saw us play in the Premiership.
i must win lightweight of the weekend award. had go home at 4pm as could no longer stand unsupported. severe hangover and lack of sleep contributed, although i completely blame the raw greasy sausage roll i had at half time for making me head home.
i even had 2 sips of a vodka and had to put it down as was shuddering as i was trying to drink it. have never ever done that.
you'll all be pleased to know that I went home, had a 2 hour kip, had some dry toast and was back out in greenwich for 8pm! got in sunday at 3am. now feel like cack again.
nice to meet mrs red pete, and weststandsinger (who assured me again he is male) and anyone else i may have forgotton!
I did pop into and out of the Oak following the final whistle; Did spot some of you outside (Ollie - are you sure about that beard?) but I was so pissed off with the match that I couldnt face talking about it. Decided to head off to my local for a sulking pint. By 11pm i was falling over and had forgotten why I was sulking - job done!
Nice to meet a few more Lifers Saturday. For the record despite being pretty drunk still managed to negotiate route back to Sittingbourne in time to DJ for 8.00pm. Went I got off the train I spent about 10 minutes trying to be sick but gave up & carried on drinking instead. Finally finished at 3.30am which was a pretty good effort on no food all day!
