Obama, new CAFC manager?

edited January 2009 in General Charlton
Obama's speech seemed to apply more to Charlton than to America:

"I stand here today humbled by the task before us...that we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood...today I say to you that the challenges we face are real...we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas. We understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted."

"Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends - honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths."

Maybe he could give the half time team talk via videolink?

  • He's managed the unexpected, but can he do the really quite unlikely?
  • That's good!! As one who tries to look at the positives (most of the time) I feel it's a case of "cometh the hour, cometh the man" The world is in crisis and needs new leadership. Maybe, just maybe in the depths of this disaster the right guy has arrive at the right time. I really hope so.
  • Get him in!
  • cheers Errbody, for absolutely ruining my attempted humour piece for the weekly predictions this week !

Yeah, and he also said this:

    "Millwall... I f@£king hate Millwall."
  • Sack him. Bloody useless. I woke up this morning expecting to hear birds singing and see all the flowers in bloom. And it was still freezing cold and miserable. Get rid. Curbs for president.
