Looking at yet another right back (and reserves lineup v Reading tonight)

edited January 2009 in General Charlton
Ex-Villa, Reading and Hibs right back Ulises de la Cruz is on trial.

Parkinson won't ever give Moutaouakil a run in the team.

Any one heard how Murty's injury is after he came off on Saturday?

Ishmel Demontagnac getting another game to try and impress. Looks like Solly is playing central midfield. Todorov starting up front, no sign of Dickson.
Reserves take on Reading
Charlton's reserves return to action on Monday evening (7pm) when they host Reading at Stonebridge Road.

Damian Matthew's charges will be looking for their first win of 2009 after slipping to a 2-0 defeat away to Queens Park Rangers on January 6th.

That defeat left the second string rooted to the foot of the totesport.com Combination Central League, but a victory over the Royals at Ebbsfleet United's ground would lift Matthew's side above ninth-placed Lewes.

However, things won't be easy against a Reading team undefeated so far this term and currently flying high in second spot.

After playing six games for the first XI recently, Rob Elliot is named in goal for the second XI after Darren Randolph was preferred at Hillsborough on Saturday, and there are run-outs for the likes of Kelly Youga, Scott Wagstaff, Rashid Yussuff and Svetoslav Todorov.

Youngsters Chris Solly, Carl Jenkinson, Aswad Thomas and Ben Godfrey will also be bidding to impress and Matthew will keep a watchful eye on two trialists, with former Hibernian, Aston Villa and Reading man Ulises de la Cruz expected to line up at right-back, and ex-Walsall star Ishmel Demontagnac likely to start on the left wing.

Walsall still hold the registration of pacy East Londonder Demontagnac, a former member of Charlton's academy, but have given permission for him to again play for the Addicks after he featured in the defeat to the R's at Loftus Road.

A well-known face in Reading's starting XI is Leroy Lita. The striker scored three goals in eight games on loan for the Addicks last season and hit the winning goal for Norwich City against Charlton in the Championship clash at Carrow Road in December during a temporary spell with the Canaries.

Lita has since returned to the Madejski Stadium, notching in a 4-0 win over Watford recently.

Although the pitch at Stonebridge Road was reported to be heavy on Monday afternoon, it's unlikely the game will be postponed.
