We either don't have the right tactics or a decent enough striker coach, who trains the forwards? Would be nice to know, just look at iwelumo and lisbie etc all bagged 15 plus goals in there first season away from the valley.
[quote][cite]Posted By: ShootersHillGuru[/cite]Quite honestly I don`t think that in the 48 years watching Charlton I have ever seen a poorer crop of strikers. Don`t have any confidence that any one of them will score goals. Unless this is dramatically remedied over the next few weeks we can certainly forget promotion or even the play offs this season.[/quote]
Hmmm, if Kenny Achempong could get in the side then I can't imagine how bad the crop he kept out were. Then there was Dickie Plumb so light weight he could not play when the mist was rolling in from the Thames, in case he was blown over. That said you are not far wrong.

That is a great point, We can see the defence are struggling as well but our Midfield are doing o.k (we do have Kins here tho) ;o)
[cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]Gray is not good enough. Has he had a fracture pelvis since he signed for us? Iwelumo was much better. I think Burton could be quite uself for us next year, with the right partner. He's also played in League one before with Brentford.
I think he was suffering most of last season with a hamstring problem that they couldn't resolve and was playing in pain each game. It was finally resolved that the problem was due to the fact that he had a fractured pelvis, which he had had for a considerable time, unknown to all and sundry. Only the 2nd player to have such a problem I seem to recall.
On top of which his wife nearly died.
I think I can cut him some slack.
PS Are you Rob Styles ? If so I refuse to speak you anymore :-)
I'm afraid I'm not Rob Styles! If i was i wouldn't be able to type due to RSI picked from constantly retrieving yellow cards from my pockets! Plymouth at home 2 seasons ago was one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen! Still haven't forgiven him!

Agreed. Worst referee ever - and that really is an achievement.
I'll not shed a tear. If we could ship him out on a free and get enough budget to bring in a better class of person, it'd be good. We need a forward that can mix it a bit anyway.
Several disciplinary issues, then acted like a prick when given his chance on loan. Will probably look back and regret his waste of talent and lack of professionalism, one day.
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]raising the money for a non-league CH I presume
Think you could be right.
Get the impression that one of Fleetwood, Dickson or McLeod have been told they can go, but only for a certain price. Exeter bid for Fleetwood and Gills for Dickson, but it looks like McLeod could be the one who's going to get the required money.

..........
But be very wealthy and probably won't give a damn.
If this story is true then I'm hoping it means we are getting rid of a striker, in order to bring one to the club.
If we have to sell to raise enough to pay the £100k for the CB then how are we going to be able to afford to replace McLeod? Are we really going to be able to get in someone who'll score goals if we have no funds?
What's the status with Andy Gray? Rumours persist that he's on his way back home, presumably if true there'll be at least a small transfer fee involved.
all three strikers including dickson and fleetwood i dont rate get lambert in for £750 + should have got liam dickenson in from derby i understand our hands were tied until the take over is complete but perhaps they could of got liam in loan until the take over is complete then get him in on a perm
The thing is even if we get a fee for Gray it won't be much and we might still be paying some of his wages.
I don't see that we're going to get anyone in who is a better prospect for next season than Izzy, with our budget. Maybe people who aren't bothered about him going should wait and see who we replace him with before celebrating too much.
Or maybe Parky has some unknown superstar lined up...

grant holt wasnt a bad signing for norwich
Don't rate Holt at all. Wasn't cheap at £500k. Would prefer your other suggestions (although as you say we're too late for Dickinson). We could've easily confused opposition with Dickson and Dickinson up front.

I know it's true cos I've seen him in a CAFC Red shirt.

Maybe a loanee from a Prem team?

Hmm. Darren Bent was pulled off the Spurs plane to the Far East....
;o)
Yep, 100% of his next transfer fee comes directly to us. Best player sale ever.
