I've been around long enough to see us play in the third tier of English football twice before.
I can categorically state that despite 18 league games without a win this is NOT the worst set of Charlton players in terms of ability that I have watched since 1963.
However in terms of attitude it most certainly is.
Jonjo Shelvey, a 16 year old boy, has come into the side and stands head and shoulders above the others both in terms of ability and effort. The lad cannot play 90 minutes, partly because he is still developing physically, mainly because he covers every blade of grass making himself available to others and trying to create something when on the ball.
If most of the other wasters that masquerade as players on our payroll had put in anything like Jonjo's effort over the season we would not be where we are now propping up the division.
One wonders just what kind of men many of our players are? In my own field there are many if not most with more ability than me. I work hard though and whatever goes wrong can look in the mirror most nights and say well you did all you could today.
Can they and do they care?

I did say MANY of our players not ALL of our players but I think you identify exactly why many don't care.
Managers these days don't stand up to the players enough in my opinion. The players hold all the cards and the managers are not prepared to lay into them as the consequence is that they will leave. Our problem isn't that Parky has lost the dressing room, it's that he never had it in the first place.
You are right, these are not the worst Charlton players ever but they make up the worst TEAM ever because they don't play as one.
Didn't Yassin/Fortune chuck their shirts into the crowd? Although Yassin does seem to do that alot, remember seeing him doing it at The Valley a few times.
Obviously why we can't afford to give him a regular game and prefer Murty or whatever passing loanee journeyman is trying to get fit in SE7 any given week...
