Yesterday we were murdered by an out of form, mid table mediocre team. This was supposed to be one of our "cup finals" and yet we didn't even come close to getting a draw.
I'm now convinced that there are serious problems in the dressing room. Until these problems are identified and solved, we have no chance of climbing the table.
I feel that it's time for a senior, respected person at the club to undertake an investigation by means of a completely confidential questionnaire distributed amongst the players. The players need to be asked where they feel the problems lie, who they consider to be the best players at the club and to pick their first 11.
The information then needs to be collated and an action plan formulated based on the findings. Keith Peacock would be the ideal man to undertake the job as the players would feel that they could trust him to not divulge who said what.

Your manager must be allowed to manage in any field. If you start to undermine that basic principal then there is no real point in that manager hanging about.
On second thoughts, maybe you're onto something there!
Anyone know if Stephen Hawking is an Addick? He could come in handy when it comes to the number crunching.
We might find out that there is a whopping black hole in the middle of our defence...
Hawking actually worked on the 'No-Hair Theorem' (I kid you not) so he'd also have no problem understanding the PR spin emanating from the boardroom.
the players want to get out of this but they need leadership....
he almost did it .... against Derby, if we had one he may have got the respect and you never know confidence may have come back, etc..
but it didnt so now, the players need help , and the manager cant help them... the manager doesnt know how to deal with this, last time the hull board put him out of his misery and the next bloke took them to the prem....
HE IS NO GOOD!
Of course the bloke I spoke to could of made that up but who knows!
a proper manager will ge this hands around that sort of thing....
break up the cliches , get the TEAM back together, single out the main protaganist, drop him and take the power back.....
instead hes hoped for the best, and week in week out sends us out there like lambs to the slaughter....
(holding my head in my hands)
Doesn't sound surprising. It's not that the players have no talent at all, if they find the right club when they leave, they'll do ok.
We'll go down and have to rebuild, using our young players, the few that remain here, and free transfers. Hopefully players that see Charlton as a big step up (like Iwelumo, McLeod, Varney etc), but can handle the pressure and expectations (unlike Varney and many of them still here).
