Zonal marking

edited January 2009 in General Charlton
At set pieces yesterday we looked like frightened rabbits caught in the headlights.
It looked like parky has them all playing zonal marking.

Their players were running rings around ours. They had so much free space

  • I know a fella who works for Southend and one of the things he said when we were relegated was that the biggest thing in the championship is defending set-pieces as teams work on them all the time. Well, on the evidence up to now, this little pearl of wisdom never reached Pardewkinson. If we have now embraced zonal marking then what happens next is anyones guess.

Not being funny Big Will - but ALL teams work on set pieces regardless of the division you are in so that's nothing new is it. If the players can't do the job asked of them.
