So, what now ?

edited January 2009 in General Charlton
....Will Parky go back to the team that won in the cup...his only success to date ?
Will he bring in more loan players who are no better than what we've already got ?
Will he prepare for relegation by giving the young players their chance ?
Will he continue to pick strikers who score about one goal every ten games ?
Who knows, were like a rudderless ship at the moment just waiting to sink. How sad

  • Tragic
  • The win against Norwich was against the Charlton of the fenlands, a dispirited team under a manager not able to motivate his side and one that had survived like us with loans. I wouldn't take that as a form guide.

    I'd at least put players like Aswad Thomas, Wright and Wagstaff on the bench and give them a few games here and there. Dumping them into a defeated team might damage their progress.

    No. Has to convince himself that Spring should play ahead of Wright because he signed him. There's a reason he didn't play much for Sheff Utd.
    A couple if he can.
    Well the two keepers, Basey and Shelvey will play. Wright, Wagstaff etc won't play very often, maybe the odd appearance.
    Depends who he gets in on loan.
    Yes we are, it's depressing.
  • Well I have booked a holiday to Cape Verde so I can go away and make out it ain't happening!
  • If he wants to preserve his dignity, he should hand in his notice.

    I'm not saying that out of malice or personal animosity towards the man because I don't have any.

    I'm saying it because it would be in the best interests of :

    * the club

    * the players (whom he seems to have lost already if you read his post-match comment about how he and the team need time apart)

    *the fans, because we really don't want to end up hating him

    * his own future career

    * the board, because they don't like tough decisons and so he should take it out of their hands
  • So, what now?

    How about a heavy defeat to Sheffield United followed up by a humiliation against Palace with the two inevitable away capitulations to Burnley and Bristol City? It's all becoming depressingly predictable.
  • He's not likely to resign Nigel. Where is he going to get another job with a record like this (and Hull).
  • Don't let the players off the hook, by and large they were totally unprofessional and didn't give a damm. That's plain unacceptable.
  • If there was a poll right now. What percentage of Charlton fans would want Parkinson out ? Surely it would be 100%.........Is there any other board that wouldn`t act on that type of support for their manager ? I seriously doubt it.ever !
