with Izzy gone, Dicko going, Gray being touted around, Waghorn loan nearly up, Burton feckin useless, Toddy not up to it, Fleets out on loan, we are very, very thin on the ground up front. We have midfielders coming out of our ears but not a half decent striker in sight. Will we actually sign one do you think ?

You make some fair points Large but I'd like to think Parky must know we are short there and has a few irons in fires somewhere along the line. He must be moving striekrs out to bring some in - COmmon sense says he should be anyway
And even if we did he will be rubbish and only have scored once this century, he'll be on a loan deal that means he can be recalled at half time during a match and be wearing a plaster cast over his broken leg.
Everyone happy now : - )
just the one broken leg ?
Hence we get linked with dross like Pericard, who resembles Sir Henry's sarcastic description a little too closely for comfort.
And very funny, Henry, if it wasn't actually a rather important/ serious issue! ;-)
to be fair I thought of him too. Saints are worse off financially than us and he's better than what we have got at the moment.
Not so long ago, Pericard was on loan to HM Prison, playing in their Mid-week League.
Or was it something to do with a penalty that was awarded against him?
Discussions can be serious and light hearted at the same time. Smiling, making a joke and not seeing everything as totally negative doesn't mean people aren't bothered or can't see the problems whatever Golfie and Nigel may think : - )
On McLeod maybe it is one out, one in or maybe Dickson is going to be given a go or maybe they are waiting for the new hero Bi to do his stuff.
And there's me taking the trouble to put a winky thing, but I still get a lecture in reply!
Who or what is Bi????
: - )
Soon the whole world will know who Bi is. He is our saviour
I went to a Spurs game earlier this season and I think it's fair to say he isn't a favourite with supporters or 'Arry.
He also looked a shadow of his former self.
A confidence boosting month loan deal could be just what Charlton, Spurs and Darren needs.
He's only got one leg left. And he needs to stand on that most of the time.
Compared to Toddy, who's got no legs left.
;o)
as long as they pay all his wages it might be a goer. However, they are likely to recoup 10m from Villa so unlikely.
Dream on mate, Spurs are still in 4 competitions, i don't think they'll be letting him go anywhere. And even if they did he wouldn't be going to a side bottom of the championship.
That leaves us Gray, Burton, transfer-listed Dicko and crocked Toddy...
Addicks buy the Bi
From that list, I'd be very happy with Lita, if the loan deal was 100% for the season, as I think we'll struggle to recruit his like anywhere else. The others don't thrill me although Graham is relatively young and Boro had high hopes for him a few years back. He might be an option if we are relegated too.
Scowcroft and Webber have a number of drawbacks but the main one of relevance now would be their goals to games ratio in the Championship. We need a striker who can get us nine or ten goals, at least, in the remaining 19 games. I can't see either of them achieving that, although Webber would have the better chance.

No centre forward we sign will get 9-10 goals in the last 19 games - but if they could score 5 or 6 in that time, it MIGHT make all the difference for a team bottom of the table!
