"STOKE have failed in a bid to bring in veteran striker Andy Gray on loan from Charlton.

Stoke had been prepared to let summer midfield recruit Tom Soares, striker Vincent Pericard and home-grown left-back Carl Dickinson go in the opposite direction to get their man, but the deal for the 31-year-old forward has stalled.

However, Soares may yet join the Championship strugglers, while Dickinson is considering offers from Championship rivals Charlton and Blackpool, and League One Leeds United."
