Anyone know the team for tonight, then? Was thinking of going but given where I live , need to get in the car now. Tried the O/S to see if there was a match preview but it's down again... so what's cooking? Could it be 'Ambrose off to Shef Wed' or 'new striker arrives' ? Or perhaps they'e extending the sale in the club shop!

Teams: Charlton: Callum Christie, Chris Solly, Jack Clark, Alexander Stavrinou (C), Yado Mambo, Carl Jenkinson, Sam Long, Harry Pell, Ben Godfrey, Lewis Perkins, Steve Lozano-Calderon. Subs: Taylor Sinfield, Ben Davisson, Liam Bellamy, Harry Lee (GK), Tamer Tuna.
Spurs: Oscar Jansson, Adam Smith, Sam Cox, Yaser Kasim, Steven Caulker, Callum Butcher, Paul-Jose M'poku, Dean Parrett (C), Jon Obika, John Bostock, Andros Townsend. Subs: Jamie Butler (GK), Kudos Oyenuga, Coskun Ekim, Nathan Byrne, Jake Nicholson.
Deserved win for the Spurs although we had some chances. Bostock's first was a cracker but maybe Christie might have got more on it had he been a bit taller.
Who knows what difference Jon Jo would have made. Their passing and movement just seemed better all round. Solly battled well and got forward and Mambo looked solid but no one else shone IMHO.
No disgrace to lose to a prem team with some talented players. I thought AFKA's "Gritt must go" chant was a bit OTT myself but he's entitled to his opinion.
Spurs hierachy out in force. Rednapp, Jordan, Allen and Bond all their as were Paul Elliot and Mark Robson (whose still after a managers post and putting his CV around)
Was able to confirm two wild rumours that were flying around Charlton Life today.
Yes, it was Martin Simons chatting to the Norwich fans and ZZ has had the pin removed from his foot and had the cast taken off.
From my view from the cheap seats :-) agree with Henry's assessment.
Spurs played 451 to our 442 and through the extra man in the middle kind of controlled the game. Bostock touch and technique was head and shoulders above everything else on the pitch. Bit disappointing from our lads to be honest, who as a unit are not as strong as they were last season. A centre half called Jenkinson i think has impressed me with the few times i've seen him this season, while Solly i feel will feature at some level at league football.
Outclassed by Spurs really, we just didn't have as good players as they did. We didn't have much going forward.
Solly was very good, rarely makes a mistake, comfortable with the ball, good defensively, looks determined, should be a consistent full back in the future, hopefully for us. Clark at left back has a decent left foot, Solly definitely a better player though.
Mambo generally solid but not great on the ball, I saw he said in the Norwich programme the other day he doesn't take risks. That's definitely true, will be a decent defender at some level, but you won't see him play his way out of trouble, which the better defenders can all do to some degree. Jenkinson was more comfortable on the ball and looked ok.
Saw Sam Long last year against Blackburn, and in pre-season against Welling, not really an out and out winger, probably more comfortable at full back. Worked hard though, had a couple of shots, one cleared off the line.
Stavrinou looked similar to when I saw him last year, tidy with his passing, did ok but doesn't stand out, but that's not his job.
Rest of them didn't really stand out. Pell very tall, not something you see in many CMs. Usually see players with his sort of height as strikers, centre backs or goalkeepers.
We struggled to adapt to the fact that, with us just having 4 in midfield, they always had a spare man in midfield which was usually Bostock. Both his goals were tremendous efforts but in both instances we failed to close him down. Whilst we were definitely outclassed we did have several good chances before we went 2-0 down and that might have made a difference. Overall a fair reflection of the difference in the teams.
Mambo is very much a la Primus. Agreed Solly was solid especially as their left winger and left full back worked the ball well between them. Pell has the physique of Crouch and might be better served playing up front rather than in the centre of the park. Difficult to see too many of the 11 at this stage making the grade but, there again, it's early days for some of them and it will be a lot easier to do so in League 1 than it would be in the Premiership!
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]only cos you were standing having a chat with people right in front of us as you left!
I was checking with Steve Waggott if the cock and bull story Brunello was spouting on here about ZZ's cast coming off and pins etc was true and it appears that for once Brunello was telling the truth.
Where were you then? Didn't see you.

Says he's 6 ft 1 there, think he's grown a bit since that was written back in August.

Right enough talking to myself I've work to do.

The price of fame I suppose, can't even leave a game a little early without everyone noticing ; - )
And it was more like 75 I'm sure!
