    I wish this site could give reputation points like some do, 'cos you'd be getting them big time from me for that posting mate! How totally f*cking arrogant to come out with a statement like that! Who does this arse Parkinson think he is? The board own the club atm, the players play for the club (allegedly) atm, the manager and coach work for the club atm, but it's the fans who are the club, because we'll be here in ten, twenty, thirty and however many years the club exists, we are the only permenant fixture, WE are the club, not some temporary-contract employee!

    If he does notr say he cares then the team is slagged for not caring, if he does say he cares then hes slagged for being disingenuous. Slag him off for his teams performance on the filed,its more relevant.

    Timing, it's all in the timing. Any statement of intent by him at this point is going to sound false, because of the results on the pitch. Start winning or even looking purposeful, and the fans will react differently to rallying cries!

    Be fair lads. Perhaps we have picked up on the fact that we know we care more than him but I think he was just trying to get over the point that he cares a lot ! We would rightly critisise him for saying I am just doing a job. I say fair play to him.

    He didn't say he cares MORE than the fans. He said no one cares more than him. Not quite the same thing but still a crass thing to say but as I've said before I don't really care what he says or what Pardew said.

    I could happily live without seeing or hearing another managers press conference. It's what the team does that matters, all the rest is just so much hot air.

    And who are you lot to say he doesnt care as much as you, he may well do. Given some of the disingenous comments from some people on here I would say he cares more than some.

    Ah, the old "who cares most?" row. Well of course we fans care most! But look on the bright side! We have a great community side, the tea is usually hot, we have an admirably close overground station and a player with a beard! If beardedness was a deciding factor in our success in the table, think, just think how successful we would be! Few premiership teams could match our facial hair quotient! Well done on that fella with the beard who sometimes comes on. My suggestion: perhaps some of these guys in the team should maybe meet up during the week - introduce themselves, say more or less how long they're staying - even if its a coupla weeks - and pool tips for dealing with the 90 minute panic attacks that nowadays pass for football at the Valley. In the meantime, lets count our blessings! Our own lack of in-play aggression can only serve as a brilliant example to young people tempted by violent street crime.

    that is a very odd way to look at it.

    How can a man who has no history with Charlton other than being a paid member of the mgmt staff care more than people who have travelled far and wide through thick and thin.

    think about it is he more cared about his reputation as a football mgr or is he more cared about the club the fans the position the impact it has on the every day Joe's life.

    it was a ridiculous statement

    no one cares more than the fans, no one in any football club because we are the club without us they dont exist that goes for every football club through the land

    it doesnt matter if it is harlow town or man utd not one club would survive if people didnt come through the gate.

    people only go through the gate because they care

    Phil only comes to work because it is his job, and he may really care about that but believe you me he doesnt care more than anyone
