OUR club, Chingfordjim, OUR club. Agree with the rest of the thread title though, "Parky" is not the man for the job here, just the cheapest option. And it's shown from his first game in charge.
I totally agree with Chingford Jim's statement. Parkinson is not good enough to run the club, it's a total crock of crap that he has bee allowed to continue, befuddling, bewildering and depressing. It's fair to say also that 90% of the players are not good enough too.
At this point in time, I really do feel like just going to ground until August, then coming back and getting on with life in league one. I can do without the torment of watching a second relegation in three seasons. Hopefully when it does happen the embarressment of relegation will hurt enough of the player's pride for them to want to prove they're not as crap as that and fight to get back into the upper leagues again. Imagine, watching Charlton victories again! Oh how sweet that would taste after this bitter pill!
The real proof of the pudding will come next season in Div 1. We will without doubt clear out some players and bring in others. All of this will in general be to Parkys design. If I am honest I can see a slight improvement in the style we are playing its just that the players are not good enough. Parkinson was not my choice but we have him for not just the remainder of this season but next season as well unless he royally fecks up in Div 1. Lets just wait and see.
Perhaps the club is actually banking on us going down and that is why we've got Parkinson now. He's expirienced at that level, knows what he's doing down there. Depressing thought if that is the motivation, so little ambition.
I don't think Parky's going to repeat his success with Colchester and I'm pretty certain he won't do it with us.
No matter how good a club's manager and personnel when does a massively underperforming and failing team bounce the next season? Sunderland and Derby in recent seasons? Looking at Parky's body language and hearing his post match speeches he's a man already bereft of ideas. Signing three or four players doesn't lift the mood of a failing squad of thirty?
When do you pour assets into a failed venture over that of a success? Some first world war generals would run a club like this.
as i said before hes just good enough, how the board cannot see this i can't believe.rather have kinsella in charge,so if we go down its with a charlton legend..
