  • Gift wrapped goals

    Charlton 0
    Forest 2
  • I am not sure if that cheers me up or makes me more miserable.

But for all we have spent on strikers in 2 years it would be nice to have 2 goals from 4 attempts.

On that ratio we should have won 5ish-2.
  • When your at the bottom nothing falls for you and everything goes against you. Thats what happened today :-(
  • Unfortunately, it's been the same all season. Lots of scoring chances missed, and bad goals given away. When did you last see a really good goal scored against us from open play.
  • Moo2's cross to Bouazza against Reading was the best I can recall
  • and Moo2's cross to Bouazza for a stunner at St Andrews. Oh for an attacking young full back and a player with a decent left foot. Where did those two go to ?

11 on target seems a bit high to me. Can remember Smith making four saves and a couple blocked but I suppose it could be 11. Anyway the only stat that matters is the scoreline.

And how many corners did we get? 8 at least if not ten. Although J-Jo takes the odd good one he is not consistent enough, but then that is nothing against the lad, we have had no one take consistent good corners since Kins. Jensen, Murphy, Thomas etc all too weak.
Also we need to try something different more often. To be fair to J-Jo he did pull one back ala Man Utd to Scoles/Rooney. The new full back, sorry can't even remeber his name, looks as if he may have the ability to beat the first defender now and then.
I don't remember them getting one corner.
  • I for one can't remember 11 shots on target? Surely 6 is a more realistic shout.

The thing is those shots which were on target were saveable ones - decent height for the keeper, whereas most of our other shots were high wide and hansom. The big problem was the two one on one type chances feel to king of the Banjos - Deon Burton. Forest got two takeable chances and took them. We didn't hit the woodwork at all either.

It's very frustrating because I feel that we have it about 98% right to win but it's that 2% that makes the difference.

  • Imissthepeanutman is right. Should've been 5-2 to us and at least 3-2 at half time. But every time we got into their area the only one who seemed to know where the goal was was Jonjo. We are relying on a 16 year-old to score for us. That can't be right, surely?
  • Forest 1st goal .........whatever the Murty/Hudson indecision, the cross came in and deflected kindly off Hudson, straight into the path of Tyson.

That's the kind of break we are not getting, but our opponents are.
  • yeah but our break will come,it has to. everyone else has had theres....
  • Who was it who said, "Luck evens itself out over the course of a season" .... ? lol

The National Luck Bank must be due to give us a payout soon?

    ;o)
  • Oggy i think our luck was stored with Lehman Brothers
  • stats dont matter ,but guess what results unfortunately do.

It's got better, at times this season with Pardew we weren't even creating chances.
