yeh all this financial stuff is a bit mysterious. obviously all clubs who get relegated and don't go straight back up are in financial shite but I can't see how it's gone so badly wrong for us. obviosuly we have spent quite a lot since getting relegated but compare that to the player sales revenue we've received since getting relegated and it must be far more than anyway else got. We got significant money back for Young, Diawara, Traore, Rommedahl all on top on the Bent money. plus Reid and and more recently Bougherra. where did it all go? I know we spent silly money and made losses on Dowie band of superstars Diawara, Traore, Faye but surely they were bought within our financial capabilities as a Prem Div team (and a supposedly financially responsible one) so surely the money we got helped out when getting relegated. but now we are truly potless.
I've said before we were up there for 8 out of 9 seasons, we were set up us a Premier League club, spending Premier League fees, wages and all the other extra costs of being up there (they even stopped laminating the programmes when we got relegated to save money).
Not a problem for clubs like Reading that go up for a season or two then come down, that really helps improve them as a club.
Teams like Bolton and Fulham could have the same problems if they come down in the next few seasons.
