See it doesn't look so bad now does it? Not even we could not get enough points to stay up with this lot coming to the Valley.

  • still only 30 odd points if we win all those gone gona need to go on some amazing run to do that, dont think apart from the time we made the playoffs i have ever seen a run like that, didnt we go 12 or 13 games without defeat with sasa in goal? oh and when we won the league we had a good run too, and that time in the prem when curbs got manager of the month... hang on a sec... alan curbishley.... ahh...
  • Our fantastic 12 in a row started with a home win over palace. Hopefully it will be our 5th in a row when we play them next, 7 in a row if you include our 2 cup wins and we will be up up and away just like me and the fairies.

Most of that lot are better than the teams we've failed to beat at home recently though so it's hard to get too carried away. At the moment we'd struggle to beat Welling at home anyway.
  • Don't forget, Upminster is the the bloke who suggested we drop Weaver.
    How ridiculous, lol

As evidently Parky's guiding light and sage, perhaps we should listen.
Winning these home games might be part of a cunning plan to escape relegation.

Back over to you, Uppy. Any good as manager?

    ;o)
  • Oggy you got me mate! I have been a coach/manager at various levels for 10 years now and hold a level 2 coaching badge.

Glad you remembered about Weaver, it wasn't a knee jerk reaction it was instinct, which was proved correct, but got a bit of stick as you know.

All fresh ideas that involve thinking out of the box always get stick, Upminster. George Bernard Shaw once said every new idea in Britain goes through three stages of opposition. First, they tell you it's against the will of God. Secondly, they tell you that it can't be done. And then finally, they will tell you that they thought of it first.

Charlton Life is no exception, methinks. Remember all those voices post-Barnsley who said Pardew had to be given more time? Three matches later when he was sacked, I swear they were all saying 'long overdue' ! Ditto Parky etc etc.

On Weaver you were right and you were brave enough to say it when nobody else would, so well called.
  • I have to admit Nigel, I am not a fan of GBS, in fact we never really got round to his Reformist Socialist readings at Eltham Green, but the man knows his stuff, as do you my friend.
  • All we need to do is between now and the end of the season get four more points than the two teams above us, can't be that hard surely!! I know if it were that easy we would have picked up more than 2 wins in 21
