Would you say you felt more confident of staying up now or this time two years ago (after the scousers spanking before Pardew took over).
Without a doubt this league is a lot easier to get results from, even from a poor side but I still felt two years ago with Bent in the side we might get out of it, knowing Reed would probably be sacked, 2 games under Pardew I was even more confident.
This time around, even if we had Mourinho coming in I dont think we would have a prayer, unless there was a massive cash/player injection.

The confidence comes from the fact that there are more teams in this division and it stands to reason that one or two will have nigh on as bad a run in the second half of the season as we had in the first. If a new man comes in and picks up a few wins, we will drag others into it and stand a better chance of surviving.
The mountain we're facing is bloody enourmous, but we have to have faith and the Board needs to be brave.
I like the cut of Parky's jib yet he seems unable to change things sufficiently. The Norwich (league) game on 10 January is now a must win in my view as we have to keep in touch with other likely relegation contenders.
The two words to describe Charlton at the moment are "soft" and "useless".
It would be nice if there was something we could see which made you think we might have a chance but it's not the case.
Len, believe you mean Forest
Never felt so down ove a CAFC team in all the 35 years I have been supporting them. The opposition only need 1 chance and they score, our midfield are non-existent and our forwards couldn't hit a barn door if a banjo was strapped to a cows arse.
we've had worse teams but never one with so little fight, spirit, motivation, pride etc.
Agreed......Totally lacking any confidence now as opposed to two years ago when I had hope.....Major overhaul is the only thing that will save us at the moment...otherwise those that wanted the plastics to go away will be granted ther wish in division three in front of 7k crowds again. Very sad and sobering times boys and girls....
it just so happens that im hammered in the aussie sun......
I was hopeful / confident we had a chance 2 years ago, namely because we had a proven goalscorer on our books, and goals are essential.
Now, although i think it is ridiculous to say at this point we are going down, i can't honestly see us getting out of it without big changes to the club, and for various reasons, i just can't see them happening.
My mood swings daily from anger, indifference, hilariarity, acceptance, and back to anger, but one thing is for sure, someone always has to be bottom and we have no divine right whatsoever for it not being us.
What i added was as it stands at the moment, i can't see us getting out of it without big changes, or a big swing in luck, and i'm not too sure either will happen to be honest. But pure acceptance is just defeatism and also unrealistic IMO.
I'm with AFKA on this one too.
It took less than half a season to get in this mess.
And it can take less than half a season to get out of it. Perhaps.
But the chance of staying up is still very much with us, because no matter how hopeless our situation may seem at the moment, we can't be relegated in December.
This is not blind rose-specs optimism. There IS a long way to go yet.
But .... the sooner the mentality of the place is changed - Board, management, players and supporters - the better chance we'll have.
It's the negativity and lack of belief of players that's killing the team.
Change that - and everything changes.
My biggest issue with this fecking club at the moment is every second statement from them is Investors this New Investors that, Directors own money this Directors own friendly debt that.
If i am honest i havent felt a bond detween them and the fans since our 4th consecutive prem season.
It was just little things that stopped happening at our club hard to put a finger on it but comments and Quotes were changing.
I remember mentioning it to my missus at the time who said they cant stay the same if you want them to move on and she was right.
The thing is they tried their best back then and you sort of knew it that they seemed to try to do the right thing by us and moving the club forward in a world that was highly challenging and different from anything they had proberly experienced at this level of Football.
Now they are self opbsessed with getting back whatever money they can from the money they put in.
Well tough shit IMHO you dont invest in a club to make money everyone knows that and if you did then you were in it for the wrong reasons.
I am hurting like feck at the moment because in terms of what i can afford to invest in this club i have both in money, commitment and time i dont want fuk all back other than a decent team to watch and a half decent stable campaign where we wont fall any lower than the chumpionship.
if we do go down i hope they will get what they deserevd from what the put in. their divering and piss poor mgmt decisions are costing us dear.
no lessons learnt since dowie jeesus christ they have only had to get the right man in since curbishley and in 4 attempts they still havent done that.
They can turn up at Fans meetings and be honset and frank with you, But in reality thats a good bit of PR when things are not going great.
"Look we are like you, we understand, we are Fans"
Really you could have fooled me
if i had an animal that was injured like this i would do something about it to save it unless they think this animal is too far gone
