There will always be major rows between the coaching staff and players but how many times do we see a player have a disagreement with the Manager with the result that the player in question is "sent to Coventry" or permanently exiled to the stiffs?
Curbs did it on more than the odd occasion, Fergie is renowned for it and even Parky (if the rumours are to be believed) seeems to have fallen out with a few in the squad. Fergie has always enjoyed the luxury that, even if a ready replacement wasn't immediately available, he would still be able to buy someone to ultimately fill the boots of the likes of Ince, Staam and Beckham and could, therefore, say and do more or less what he liked.
Other Managers aren't that fortunate and I would suggest that they would do well to follow the likes of Steve Coppell and Martin O'Neill.
On Sky today Stephen Hunt quite openly stated that Martin Allen hated him and that the feeling was mutual. No such issues with Steve Coppell and as a result he has a Premiership class player on his hands.
Look at the way O'Neill handled the Gareth Barry situation. He let Barry know who was boss (took the captaincy off him) but treated him like an adult and continued to play him because he knew to do otherwise would be "cutting off his nose to spite his face".
Players have their part to play too. Too many to them think that they are Billy Big Balls and only have to wave their wage packet at the Manager to prove the point.
Neither Parky or our players can afford, in the current climate, any sort of fall out. Parky, becasue he must realise that he hasn't got the money to buy "quality" to replace anyone leaving and the players because they may well not find another club on the same sort of contract they currently have.
