Why do managers?

edited December 2008 in General Charlton
Drop players who aint good for a while, replace them with players previously droped for the same reason. Then expecting a different result, put in some untried players and give them a good run. IE Dixon,Wright, Shelvy, etc. What will happen is nothing. Just drives me mad.

  • Because that's all they've got?

It's not about ability. We know they have ability, otherwise they wouldn't be here.
A lot of time, performance from a player depends on what he's got going on inside his head.

If a manager can change that - and get fresh attitude or belief, then he'll reinstate players into the 1st team.

I said pretty much the same thing to a mate at Norwich yesterday, we drop players for playing poorly (Bailey, Sam, Semedo, Gray all spring to mind) then after a poor run they come back in. If we want fresh attitude and belief as Oggy says then we need to play the likes of Shelvey and Dickson.
  • Give Sinclair and Christensen a go - they can't be any worse and who knows THEY will be hungry to prove themselves.
  • Who knows- what I meant to add was that Sir Alex Ferguson once put an untried kid into the team for a semi- final against Chelsea by the name of Beckham who scored- I wonder whatever happened to HIM!
