Shame of it is that Holland looked really up for it vs Everton and I was hoping he was gonna be back to something like the MH we had a couple of seasons back...
Reed is the one I am asking questions of.. I just hope we can bring in some talent come Christmas that can help us to stay up if not get back up again, and stay up...
In the Jan window I'd ship Hughes and Holland out. Ambrose I'd keep.
Bring in Steve Sidwell, currently out of contract at Reading and the risk is he'll go for nothing at the end of the season, so Reading will part with cash for him.
Holland hasnt got the legs any more, Hughes is a good championship player.
Ambrose is frustrating but he is wasted out wide. He has rarely if ever played in his best position which is the creative link in a 4-5-1, him and baby Bent do have a good understanding but we rarely get a chance to see it.
BFR - Ask yourself why would Sidwell come here??? Reading have done things quietly building up support and building not buying a team - he will either sign again for Reading for a year or two or make a move up a notch and I'm afraid that ain't us right now!
If we are going to splash some cash then it has to be in Europe on an inspired loan signing like Costa
Reading have done what we did so successfully, steady organic growth, faith in young players, building up the squad and developing a team ethos under a couple of good managers, despite losing one good manager unlike us they replaced him with Coppell and kept the continuity going.
Would Sidwell come to the Valley? At the moment no, Reading will get offers this January and they'll tell him bluntly sign a new contract, or go, but I think he's more likely to end up at a much better club than us regardless of whether we beat relegation or not. But if we do get a windfall from the sale of Darren Bent he's one player who'd be top of my list.

Maybe once or twice a season we have got a decent performance out of him and that simply isn't good enough. We should of outed him last summer.

Why would they?
;)
Top class player.
Apparently Preston want £6m, the only way he'll come here is if we sell Darren B first.
