"We were punished for switching off once"
That may well be the case, I'd be more concerned by the fact that we have yet again played an entire half of football without creating a single worthwhile chance.
Once again we are treated to opposition assessments that we are the worst team they have seen this season.
This is much much worse than the run in last season.
A pathetic, rudderless hulk heading for the rocks. We've sailed past the light house and sinking down another level is inevitable.
How long before people pass our fine stadium on the train and see rusting pylons and 5-6k turning up?.
So much hard work done by so many.
The board must act now. I don't buy all this a new manager won't be able to bring anyone new in crap. What he will have is 2-3 weeks to decide who to ship out (everyone????) and time to try and manouvre us into a position where financially we might be able to bring a few in who might make a difference.
Currently waiting for Corals to give me a price on us not getting 40 points this season.

But no we are now waiting till the New Year when presumably the board will have to get rid of Parky by which time it will probably be too late.
Yet another in the long line of cock ups made by CAFC in recent years
Parkinson, who will remain in the hotseat for the rest of the festive period, has now supervised six matches and declared the team will battle to turn the current predicament around.
"Everyone at the club needs a win. The people that wash the kit, the tea lady, everyone around The Valley, we just need a win from somewhere.
"How we get it is by sticking together and working hard and making sure that within games we don't lose belief when we get a setback.
"We have to keep working hard for each other and that's what we are going to do. We need to bounce back.”
For christ sake I've been hearing this for weeks you stupid man. Win a game! All I hear is what we will do, blah, blah blah. It's pathetic.
What do yopu expect him to say? By all means call for his departure, but don't expect some great eloquent speech. Pards has left us a rubbish team, which he has tried to mould positively, but when you have a sow's ear you just can't create a silk purse
Parky has done his best with the bag of dross pards left. Must the games he has been in charge , there has been fight - something lacking from pardew's sides since he was first appointed in the premiership.
I hear all this "get him out ....Blah, blah".....it aint't his fault the players are no good. You want to get another manager in? Who says they going to do any better??? Will they instill fight in the players?
How Charlton do is nothing about whether supporters agree with what the manager says after a game, its how the players react to what he says before the game. Stuff that, i'm making excuses again about players 'having to be motivated'.
Lets face it, we can't be in a worse place:
We are skint
We have owners looking to get out,
We have no manager
We have a caretaker that can't get us a win
We have a squad of players that clearly aren't good enough / motivated enough / organised enough
We have crowds falling at an alarming rate
We are joint bottom of the league
Every single aspect of our club is on its knees at the moment.
AFKA you are right, it's desperate.
Can I offer a counterpoint though, my son who's 3 finished his first term at the Community Coaching Scheme this morning. The course has been great, well run and great for all the kids. They gave each kid a Charlton bag as a Christmas present, you should have seen his face absolutely delighted. I went to the shop this afternoon and bought him his first kit for Christmas. I could cry at the state of our club, but they are still impacting future generations of fans in a positive way. H'ell have his first season ticket next year whatever feckin division we are in.
i know it's meaningless when it comes to the football side of things, but the club do still do some things right, just doesn't seem like much at the moment. C'mon you reds.
There have been too many false dawns of corners turned that have seldom lasted beyond the next game. The team cannot seem to sustain the required level of play for us to go on a run to lift us out of our predicament.
At the moment, short of a miracle which completely rejuvenates this team I cannot see how we can get ourselves out of this. With every defeat comes the shock realization that this is happening to us.
I'm normally an optimist and we never quit, right, but the club's future becomes more in jeopardy with each loss and it is an awful thing to feel so powerless as you watch something you love so lose its way.
what's he scared of them saying FFS.
Who said he was scared Ledge...we don't know the reason?
You can't seriously hand the job full-time to a bloke with two points from six games, its just not good enough.
The thing to remember as well is that we have played some absolute shite in these six games, Derby, Saints, QPR, Norwich, Coventry and Blackpool are ALL crap relegation-fodder and we have not beaten any of them under his reign.
I like the bloke and he seems a sincere, decent individual but this is a results business and he has not got a single one in six games.
But whatever, it sure is manifesting itself on the park.
It's been a club policy for years that the players don't talk to the press after losing
Agree with everything you've said. Sometimes the caretaker manager makes changes and it works (like for Sbragia at Sunderland), other times it doesn't (Les Reed), its been blatantly obvious that although we've played ok in parts of some games that Parkinson is not the man for the job. It's not as if we've struggled to beat Man Utd, Barcelona and Inter, some of the teams we've failed to beat recently (Derby, Coventry, Southampton etc) have been some of the worst teams i've seen us play in years.
Do they talk to the press when we win a game?
So long ago I can't remember...
we also don't know if he did it in the first place?
I dont think he thought about it at all given the shit report from the match - in fac the only time he mentioned charlton was to say: Charlton have now gone 14 games without a win. Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson banned his players from talking to the media afterwards.
To be honest there wasn't much to write about us anyway as we did f*ck all in the game. I can remember 1 decent shot in the 90 minutes.
No but we can speculate can't we.
