Said through the summer I would rather keep Racon than out of anyone else. Really agile and athletic, has a shot on him and can pass the ball. With him and Semedo being quick it helps our two centre backs, who look a bit prone to the odd miss clearance at times.
I love Racon and you can tell he really loves his football with us. Was so close watching that shot in the second half go just wide! Im away on holiday now and I am actually gutted I am going to miss saturday.
I thought Burton did very well and can agree a little that Jonjo was a bit hot headed in the first half. Did however take his goal well!
Best of luck for saturday I will be watching from afar!
Took a mate along and he said Racon was the stand out performer yesterday, had to agree with him, the only player that ran at the defence consistently and caused them problems, liked him wide and Bailey in the centre. Think Bailey prefers it as well as he is allowed to get stuck in and get in the oppponents faces.

Wasn't there but I think it may well be better for us at times trying that with Semedo out injured. Racon likes running with the ball, Bailey like you say wants to get stuck in so it could help both of them. Would Bailey score as many playing in the centre though?
From what I saw, he caused them a lot of problems, but needs to work a bit more on the final ball or shot - he tied himself in knots as well as them at times! With Semedo out, I'd keep Racon left and Bailey middle, though. Spring and Bailey should then work on covering for each other, so that Bailey can still get into the box/ scoring positions.
i thought he tied himself in knots as leeds didn't allow us much time on the ball and our players weren't finding space for him to pass to - often he had the ball and had 3 leeds midfielders on him.
Racon is a very good player, but there is something not quite right with him at the moment. He did well enough at Leeds and, to my mind, playing him wide left has always been an option. But he looks a bit tired to me, and he has a tendency to overelaborate in good shooting positions. As a result, he doesn't seem to be the same goal threat that he was last season. I also worry slightly that he doesn't get into the game as quickly as he might. It can often be 20 minutes or so before you realise that he is there, and that's bad news for a central midfielder.
I like Racon very much as a player but, for all the good things he does, I'm not convinced that he is at the top of his game at the moment. My guess is that he is carrying a niggle, or just feeling the effects of a number of games. Parkinson needs to keep him fresh, so I would suggest no Johnstone's Paint appearance. Trouble is that goes for quite a few others.

I thought that was more true of Bailey on Saturday, but I know what you mean.
A Leeds ST holder I went with said Racon was the classiest away player he's seen this season, and apparently Eddie Gray said something in teh lounge like "If this is Charlton on an off day, I wouldn't want to play them on a good one."
Racon imo is the best midfielder in the division, he showed at times last year he could cut it in thr Championship and this was in a poor side therefore he can play at a much higher level than League 1. Would rather him in midfield than Bowyer, Bryan Hughes, Amady Faye and they are all in prem! Think keeping him in summer was eqaully important to Shelvey and Bailey staying
I've thought the same as Dave Rudd, doesn't seem to be playing quite as well as we've seen him last season. Seems to make more little mistakes, but I think that might be down to him now being seen as a threat. Teams don't let him shoot from long range and crowd him out if he runs at them. That can make a player look worse than he is.
in all fairness though he maybe needs to improve on the goal return as he fins himself in good positions to get a shot away and does not always take them

They are only 65 years old between them.
;o)
Good, i'm glad we finally have a side that can get stuck in. It's been clearly missing for the past 2 years.

i think he's great!
Thought he did it quite well tbh, although Youga certainly had one of his better days. In all fairness Youga played pretty damn well.
