Parky

As you can guess from my handle, I'm pretty cheesed off with recent news. Most fans here have only good things to say about Parky but can I offer some counter-points:-

1) We have only earnt 2 points under his guidance.
2) He continues to pick his full compliment of loanees, while failing to give contracted players a chance
3) Defensive frailties are still there despite the lack of flair
4) Burton looks to be his 1st perm signing come January but is a mediocre player at this level, certainly not a goalscorer
5) Recent matches the players have obviously been told to get it forward early, no way to control a game

I think the quality in the squad should get us out of the mire, but have little confidence that Parky is the man to build the club back up.

  • You're right about Burton but you'd have to be blind to see there wasn't a big improvement and a base from which to work from.
  • 1. Yes i'm sure he is aware of that as well as us!!
    2. Sam ahead of Gillespie!!
    3. Who else have we got other than the back 4 that played? Primus no more loan players you say, Youga well upto you
    4. Agreed mediocre jurys out
    5. Well we havent controlled a game for a long time and in the position we are in we are not going to, so i'm with him lets get it up there end and worry about it from there.

I'm not sure the quality is there that everyone believes in but against Derby I dont think any other manager would have got more out of our current playing squad.

    1. I don't think he was ever going to turn it around that quickly. Our players seriously lacked confidence.

    2. Bouazza we have no other options apart from maybe Basey, Primus has been left out, Waghorn is better than McLeod and Dickson, , Cranie is starting to show he never was as bad as people said he was and

I can understand why he brought in 3 more loans. If he didn't everyone would say why didn't he try to strengthen the squad. McEveley was brought in as left back is one of our weakest positions, Gillespie gives Sam good competition Burton gives us another option if Gray is unavailable.

    3. Will improve with confidence and when we start keeping possession better. He's just got to pick the best defensive players we have.

    4. Not a goalscorer but as I said backup for Gray.

    5. I agree that was clear to see. At times we should have been more composed, but being direct in the right way can be effective (not hoofing it up to one player to flick on every time like last season). It's more about grinding out results at the moment than controlling the game.
  • Everything is being directed towards gaining 3 points, and ugly if necessary.

But 3 points is the target. The pretty football can come later.
