We need some luck. Twice in recent games we've conceded at the death to balls which have just fallen kindly for the opposition. Well done though to the team, they gave everything and if they play like that week in week out we'll climb the table.
The ball may have fallen nicely for him, but there wasn't one of our players anywhere near Ellington when it droped to him. How can that be in the final minute of the match?
just finished watching - had to tape it due to work - I'm absolutely gutted but one of my first feelings was my lot and you lot at the game must have been in bits on the journey home. I've been there enough times and the feeling doesn't go away quickly - I will still be thinking about it tomorrow and I'm 5000 miles away.
was so gutted when I got in that I couldn't face coming on here and went straight to bed.
having woken this morning still feel gutted but proud of that performance and the fact that my five year old nephew came to his first night match last night . He went really quiet after our second went in and when asked why he said "cos I'm worried that derby might score again"
Get used to it little fella , it's what being Charlton is about .
Hope the players aint too down hearted as they deserved to win that
the most gutting thing for me is the obvious lack of communication at the back - there was a charlton player right behind Baasey did he not shout to leave it
Never wanted to kick the effing telly as much as I did last night.
Only watched the last 40 minutes as I was out studying as got my next exam tomorrow but even in that 40 minutes you could see the commitment from the players was there for all to see.
The thing is under Parkinson we have conceded two goals in four of the five games - that is what will get us relegated unless we can start keeping regular clean sheets or at least only conceding one a game
can anyone put their finger on it? is it the back four or are they not getting enough protection from the midfield four?
Bouzza is our on player with real quality going forward but is he leaving the back four exposed? both games came from balls in from that side last night
at least Parky picked just about the best side from those available
no McClown and no Youga - hope we never see either of them in a CAFC shirt again
I think (???) if Basey left it Ledge then there was a Derby player to get the flick, it was just bad luck where the ball landed. The reason the defence were not tight was probably because they were expecting a flick & that's where it should have gone. Just absolute bad luck.
Their disallowed goal, WAS offside, the player who put in the cross came from an offside position to collect the ball then knock it in.
Agree with most said, much better performance, crowd was fantastic (from what I could hear on TV), much more spirit & fight from the players. Couldn't fault anyone, a couple of missed chances from Sam & Bouazza, another day they would have gone in. Lets hope they are not too down from the late goal & can move onto the next game with some more confidence!
Those four minutes felt oh so much longer at the time.
Really enjoyed this match though and miles better effort and performance from the team.
Our fans were outstanding and did us proud. Did feel a bit gutted on the way home dropping those 2 crucial points and am a bit hoarse but it's made me optimistic again that we can get out of this and start clawing our way up the table.
