1. Why did the club agree to letting him play against us, its naive of the club or did we have to agree as we are so skint that Derby took the piss?
2. After celebrating the first goal, he should never wear the shirt again even if he is sent back to us, he is on loan FFS, no class whatsoever.
Plus point form tonight, if Parky can make the team realise that these late goals happen in football, especially when your luck is down, and that they, as a team, improved a huge amount then we may have a chance of staying up.

Don't forget that we signed McElvey or however his name is spelt, from Derby, and presumably had he been fit he would have played against his former club. There are no rules on loanees playing against their former clubs in the Championship, that rule only operates in the premiership.
As for his celebrating the goal, I didn't see it, he's no longer our responsibility and Derby pay his wages and employ him. when the transfer window opens the paperwork will be sorted and he'll formally become a Derby player. in the event that they change their mind at the 11th hour, then I'd expect another Midlands team to sign him.
As for celebrating, i don't blame him after our tw@s booing him.
He'll only be mentioned when we're slating Pardew for his many totally intept signings.

the exception being when we remember his two goals against Palace in February.
Sure, he signed an 'emergency loan' agreement, which allows him to play for Derby before the transfer window opens in January.
But there is no question of him returning to The Valley.
He's a Derby player now.
I just hope the deal is all signed and sealed and they can't send him back once they twig.
Let's move on.
He always tried for us.
I thought the booing of him tonight was nothing short of pathetic, but then nothing surprises me with some of the idiots we have as "fans" these days.
He showed last season he can get a few goals with some confidence and the pressure taken off him. He's not a regular goalscorer at this level but he can get a few goals.
Certainly not useless or a poor player as some say he is.
Must have been the only time he was out of our back 4's (particularly Cranie's) pocket all game.
Cranie's best game by a country mile. Actually looked a decent player tonight.
luv em
Varney gone
Red army !!!!!!!!!!
Varney was Varney, bit of running, couple of needless unnnecessary bits of petulance and wouldnt have come close to scoring if we were still playing now.
Hope the few posters on here who seem to adore him can now get a grip and applaud Parkinson etc for getting some decent money back for a League 1 striker.
You've done nothing but slag the bloke most of the season you wanted rid of him we got rid of him - and now getting on your high horse because he celebrated a goal and showed no remorse - deary me - for his NEW club - he is not a charlton player anymore
so he IS our player until Jan
or if we had won and jewell got the boot this morning.
derby new manager might think of better ways of spending the rumoured £1m.
Even if he is bloody useless.........well, as a goal scorer anyway.
Luke Varney showed last night why he can fook right off, What did he offer to Derby last night nothing, nadda, Feck all yes he ran around like a headless chicken yes he out jumped a defender once from 6 yds out and put the ball over the bar but apart from that he did nowt.
So what if he celebrated a goal, so what if people booed him he was booed when he played for us why not when he plays against us
I am glad his gone i hope he does for Derby what he done for us
That was my thinking as well.
Without a high workrate, he looked very poor.
There is definitely no reason to bag him.
