Sorry don't agree. We fought hard tonight yes but there was little quality and even though we were slightly the better team we still couldn't win at home. How is that going to get us out of this mess?
I'm not a negative fan just realistic.....I appreciate they're lacking in confidence, so does that give us an excuse to not win another game then?
I know we did ok and there was a few good individual performances but it was still not good enough by the end and against a team who were playing slighly better we would have had a lot more problems. Waghorns had a good game but his finish was poor and a lucky deflection.....And if we're seeing a goalkeepers kicking as a plus point then that shows there's little else quality to talk about.
I'm just fed up now with the false dawns of promising performances that don't get us a win and then never lead to anything in the next games. I've been optimistic too many times this season just to be proved wrong....I hope i'm proved wrong this time.

We played everything safe, just got the ball clear.
We tried to grind out a result, we just got the ball out of our own half and attacked from there. Looked like they were told to do that as Bailey and Semedo rarely got the ball down properly.
Difference was they looked like they believed they could win, a bit of confidence which wasn't there against Coventry.
[cite]Posted By: falconwood_1[/cite]I agree with DR. . . . .
Waghorn though has more desire, ability and most importantly BRAINS than a good 50% of our side.
Compare him, an 18 year old, to McLeod, who Super Al paid over a £1million for.
Scary eh.
Good to see someone else noticed that about Waghorn. Much much intelligent footballer than McLeod. A couple of good passes like his one when he came on the other day.
We won't be able to sign him or Bouazza permanently, they're not going to be let go for free are they? At least £1m for Bouazza just to get their money back, and Waghorn is for the future.
I thought the performance was good..... apart form the obvious complete lack of confidence....
The boys fought properley and thats what you need to start with...
Its now about Parkinson... he needs to lead... he needs to put a very solid positive spin on this and get the players doping well for next week...
the crowd were fantastic you could here them all the way over here in Australia...
For me it was fantastic to see my team live on TV... at times when we had those couple of chances from Bouazza, and sams set up up for wghorn... just for a moment it looked like the charlton of old.......
Very cloe tomight.... use the positives Phil and get the points and the job donw on Saturday...
Agree that we have no confidence and the game was really substandard for professional football. But there was plenty of team effort and they looked as though they cared, which is a step in the right direction....And the covered end actually sounded good tonight.
Much better performance tonight, hope that last minute goal doesn't dent their confidence even more. Lets hope for a bit of luck to go with it on saturday.
I'm absolutely gutted we didn't win that. Memories of the Fulham game when they too got the cruel last gasp equaliser. Considering the form we have been in, no confidence and six changes as well and I think we should be delighted with that performance. Still half the season to go and if we play like that every week, I think we'll be ok. People need to get off Lloyd Sams back, he proved tonight that he is a quality player. The Gray/Waghorn partnership looked very promising. Basey has to stay in the team, his crossing is superb. We were undone by a long throw, something that even the best Premiership defences are having trouble defending against when they play Stoke. We shouldn't be too hard on ourselves. The win will come when we are least expecting it. Tonight if anything we tried too hard, had we been more relaxed we'd have won 3-1 which would have been a true reflection of the game.
Only heard R5 commentary but I found myself turning up volume & racking my brains for a new superstition to use to ensure this kind of performance in future. But no way can I wear these pants again...

Problem with Sam is he just hasn't been consistent enough. The talent and potential is there, just like it was with players like Rommedahl, Thomas and Ambrose.
Too often his crossing, finishing and decision making has been poor. He was more direct for Waghorn's goal, just attacked Derby instead of messing around with the ball and crossing it from deep.
I usually log on to moan but tonight im proud to be an Addick.
10 mean gave 101%, Bouazza I still feel isn't committed, the 1 on 1 and the curling cross from midfield that he didn't bother running for riled me.
Waghorn and Gray, brilliant. Pleased for Lloyd Sam, everyone else pleased with. Couldn't asked for more. Pleased for Kinsella on the touchline. Was jumping around all game, he deserved the game on his own.
We play like that for the rest of the season then i'l be happy no matter what league we end up in.
Derby fans were terrible, why travel all that way and not support your team. Highlight of their support was that massive flag.

Sco, nothing personal mate, but so many on here emphasise the failings of individual players, but rarely highlight what these players do right or give credit where it's due.
You might be right. But this is the Championship, and none of our players are going to be perfect, they are plainly lacking in confidence and they are going to make mistakes. And they are not the Prem/international players we were used to seeing only a couple of years ago.
I'm just saying that's why people have been frustrated with him. That's why he gets dropped after a run in the team.
I did say he did much better for Waghorn's goal, I just want to see him do that more often.
We need to see more of that from him. Another day he'd be fouled and win a penalty, or have a shot and score.
I'm saying he has the ability to do that more often, and it would be effective. Too often this season he's not been that direct, just messed about with the ball and lost it.
Bouzza is a frustrating player but then so are many others. Sometimes I just wish he'd show a bit more composure and not go for the 'champagne' finish. However, at least he was prepared to shoot. I've seen plenty other of our players who in the same position would lay it off to someone else to cock it up and take the brickbats for it.

Would think they'd go for that, if Chopra can't even make the Sunderland side - what chance has MW?
He looked so sharp. Just the sort of forward we've wanted for months/years

Scary eh.
They have zero confidence and haven't won in weeks - but were brave enough to go for it.
No quality?? - Gray's ball to Sam, Sam's pass to Waghorn, Waghorn's finish.
Gray's turn and finish for his goal.
Sam's touch to set up his shot that hit the bar.
Elliott goal kicking and distribution.
Cranie's defensive play.
Hudson's aerial dominance.
There was plenty of quality

Can't fault the effort, was 100%.

I wouldn't want to sign Bouazza full time, even if he was free. Luxury player, with no final ball, that isn't suitable to keep us up.

Was all about getting the ball clear. Not much good football, but it almost worked.
Hope that gives them some confidence. There was more belief there compared to Coventry when they ended the game with none.
