Becaue I now know it can't get any worse!
Having gone to Charlton for 25 years, witnessed that game v Wycombe, and the game v Barnsley a couple of weeks ago I have to say i thought tonight was the worst of the lot. Not just because we lost and were so poor but because every player 1-11 looked uninterested, showed no passion, no urgency, no fight, no clue. Bailey probably had his worst game for us, i thought the front 2 were completely inept, never passed to one another or got on the end of anything. I barely noticed the 'wingers', the keeper let in a goal from 35 yards and Cranie & Semedo, well no comment.
Therefore i think i can safely and officially say right now that things on and off the pitch can only improve. I for one do not beleive we can play that badly again for a very long time and i think the unbeleiveable poor quality of this game will act as an impetous to change, Parky will not be here for the next game surely. We will have a new management team, full of new ideas and who hopefully can inspire more fight and passion even if the end result continues to be the same. I would also expect it to be the end for a number of our loan players who are no better than those we already had at the club. We may also get to see some of our kids playing again.
Elliott, Mootoo, Hudson, Fortune, Basey, Sam, ZZ, Racon, Jonjo, Todorov & Dickson would be a team that would be significantly better than tonights and would stand a chance of staying up and are all ours (appreciate 2 are injured at the mo).
We may all be hurting at the mo but we are not yet half way through this season, and with a decent new manager in place and the crowd getting behind the team i am still confident we have just enough to get out of this mess.

I say this every week, performance wise it can't get any worse surely next week can only be an improvement, oh but it does and it can ge worse as we have witnessed every home game since reading - which ppl have forgotton we could easily have lost was it not for some woefull charlton like finishing by reading that day.
And that team, hmmmmmmm back four/five would be my first choice, but not sam in startin line up- until he learns how to cross the bloody ball
best thing the y could do (apart from sacking him tomorow) is to send the loanees back & tell him to play shelvey, Josh wright,Harry Arter etc
As a team we're terrible going forward, shows last season how we relied on Andy Reid so much.
The midfield can't dominate the game, they can't create chances.
The defence and Weaver are under so much pressure because we aren't comfortable passing the ball around just to keep possession, and we can't create much so eventually lose the ball.
Part of that's down to having players that have never played with each other. We started the game with our right and left sides made up of 4 loanees, and one of our strikers on loan, playing with a striker that has barely played all season.
Coventry weren't particularly good, they put in a good cross for the first goal and scored a good free kick.

I said that a day ago ... be careful that you don't get shouted down .....
in total agreement
Some fans might be happy with that, but a lot would question what the manager is doing and would moan if/when the young players make mistakes.
But after four games I don't think Parkinson will use Shelvey, Wright or any of the others as they don't have enough experience. Doesn't look like he rates Dickson or Basey either.
i agree with all that.We look like a side heading for the division below. They can't do any worse than the shambles we have at the moment, they may even put up a fight. Be better prepared for next season as an added benefit. Please for the love of god get shot of Bouazza and the rest they were awful last night, I'd probably only keep Gillespie for his experience if we play more youngsters. I thought Wright did ok in his games and apart from getting caught once or twice Basey always looked solid and good on the ball, surely only experience will iron out these lads weaknesses.
