Its all clear to me now

its the loan system , its fatally flawed

Struggling clubs see it as a way out of trouble, either cos they can't buy anyone because they can't afford them or its not in the transfer window
others see it as a way of lessening the wage bill or perhaps giving youngsters some experience

Either way Its a farce , it doesnt work , struggling teams like us end up with a load of loan players who don't give a shite and it just pees off the contract players we do have , it then happens that the peed off contract players we have go out on loan to someone else

Its a Managers get out of jail free card , which as we are sadly witnessing is really a 'Go straight to Jail card'

we now have so many loan players we cant use them all at once anyway, WHATS the point of paying their wages when we cant play them all ????????

Why cant they see this ???

send them all back to where they come and bring back our loanees
Stand by THE players who signed for CHARLTON and not those who signed for portsmouth , derby or some other team.......

bring back Varney, Fleetwood and Ambrose
send back
Primus, Cranie, Bouazza, Burton, McElvey, Waghorn, Gillespie , at least if we go down it will be Charlton players who were responsible , not some bunch of failures and no gooders, who nobody else wants and WHO dont care if we go down or not.........

Its why we went down in the first place and why we are fading fast.

Come on you reds charlton till I DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Clivey.....bang on, I doubt none of the loan players would want to sign for us even if we wanted them. IMO you loan a player who is at least as good as you have to cover for injuries and the likes not pick a team mostly made up of them.
Cant see anybody giving that bit extra to a team knowing they will never be there.
Pick and play CAFC players first !!
  • Unfortunately,Varney seems far happier at Derby.Same for Ambrose, and Fleetwood was playing pub football last year.

It's a bloody great mess.I'll give you that.
  • why was Ambrose allowed to go out on loan?

surely he was one of our better players?

He was. Once. 3 years ago. Now he's just toilet

    I hope this clarifies
  • It can work, it has in some cases, but we're loaning so many because Pardew never got the squad right in the first place.

We shouldn't have 2 senior centre backs, or no left wingers.

Loans should be there to add to the squad, not to be your only players in those positions.
  • I totally agree with the top two postings. Loans to the extent we have them are utterly ridiculous and not the way to a stable team. Loans surely are for desperate measures or with a view to signing the player in the end. I remember when we had Alan Kernaghan in 1991 on loan and that was a real rarity, now the squad changes weekly, the football league need to look at how fecked up the loan system is and do something about it (they won't tho)
  • Hmm Blackpool's 2 goals were scored by loan signing Liam Dickinson. That's 4 in 2 loan games. He got 2 at Plymouth last week as well :-)

yeah but we've got deon burton on loan and in his 2 games the team have scored............ zero times ... but then our non creative midfield would turn pele impotent!!
  • top two agreed

Pains me to say it, but that beattie is doing alright on loan to palace aswell.

Loan moves do frequently work.............just not for us.

  • Our problem of being overloaded with loanees has been compounded by pardews sacking though, with parky trying to address our mess through probably the most viable option open to him between now and january (to bring in more experience via loans).

The first four quick fixes to our squad (primus, cranie, bouazza, waghorn) resolved nothing, so pardew gets sacked. Then parky does his bit by getting mceveley, gillespie and burton, in the hope that this sorts it out.

So in short, we're using the loan system to try and get us out of a hole that our contracted underperforming/overrated players couldn't deal with - but our numerous permutations, be it loans or not, have so far resulted in bottom ......
  • To be fair to Parky, he brought in his 3 loans to address the imbalance of the side, positions where we were weak and ineffective.

And also to try and changing the losing mentality of the side, with fresh energy.

With the window shut, loan players were the only option to address those problems.

Yeah they may do, but not the whole F**king team :0
  • What I don't understand is that apparently we signed Waghorn as an emergency loan- why are clubs allowed to do that when they themselves have players in that position out on loan to other clubs- surely if we needed a striker then we should have had to recall Fleetwood from his loan- that's what makes a mockery of the system.
  • Emergency doesn't actually mean anything. It's just what short term loans outside the window are called. Not really sure why, I know what you mean.
