I'm Lucky !

I was home from the Blackpool game just before 6pm!

It is only the 2nd time I've seen Charlton "live" this season ad my impression is that we we will be relegated.
The skill level and the effort are minimal, this isn't Charlton, even in the bad old days in the 2nd & 3rd Divs we still played attractive attacking football and scored goals,OK we let lots in as well, but this lot are pathetic.OK in the first 30 mins we did have a couple of vg goal chances which with any luck would have gone in but the goals we conceded were both header from balls from their left and were very defendable. It was so bad that towards the end the Lass felt that she could go on the pitch and do better! My views on individual players that stuck out were:
Bailey: poor passing ability
Burton: A skilful player who needs to score a goal, and will.
McEveley: Great effort and skilful in defence & attack
Gillespie: I've always rated him,but not after today
Bouazza: 1st half combined well with McEveley, faded 2nd half.
Sam: Rubbish substitution

My opinion now is that we need a complete clearout of the current management and another new start - it can't be any worse.

  • With Bailey I've found his passing isn't bad, but he can get sloppy with it and make bad decisions. At times his passing has been good. He's not playing like he was when he first came here though.

He's not like Matt Holland who's passing is always simple so he never gives the ball away,
  • Im the lucky 1,been indoors all day in the warm n av saved at least £100.Jokes aside fair play to those who travelled and i totally agree with the total clearout!!!
  • I agree about Bailey- we should have bought Andrew Crofts from Gillingham instead- Welsh International, 24, box to box goalscorer, tough in the tackle and passionate- has fallen out with Gillinghams manager and is currently on loan at Peterborough. I spoke to Chris Dickson about him in the summer and he, having played alongside him last year whilst on loan at Gillingham agreed with my assessment and thought that he should be back playing Championship football. I even mentioned him to Pards who said that he he felt his 'mate ' Scally wouldn't do Charlton any favours by letting him go. We should snap him up as he is going to be sold in January according to those in the know at Gillingham.
