Watching the build up to Liverpool game out here on Showtime where they have Ian Dowie & Derek Whyte as studio guests.
Rob McCaffery asks Dowie to pick his best team of players he either played with or had under his management and he picks Luke Young at right back and Darren Bent as sub, only kept out of the starting 11 by Shearer & Le Tiss.
He also reckons the best fight he witnessed on a football pitch was Terry Hurlock and David Speedie.....with only one winner.....and it wasnt Speedie!

saw diawara in the bordeaux chelsea game last week and he wasnt as shit as he was with us!
What a surprise.
Probably because he isn't
The bloke was a very sound player who was sadly missed when he left....big mistake letting him go and playing in a position that we haven't really filled with any conviction since he left.
No, looked fast and could head a ball a long way when no one was near him.
No positional sense, got done time and time again by forwards who sat on his shoulder (Wycombe) and let's just say his lifestyle wasn't suited.
Well rid IMHO

There were some days when Diawara looked outstanding (Man City and Watford at home spring to mind), others when he was utter garbage (Chelsea away). Either way he was somebody I rated overall and I was quite surprised to read the quote attributed to Richard Murray about him shortly after Dowie's sacking.

Not having that. Traore was garbage, but Amdy Faye made him look like Lionel Messi. Faye is, without a doubt, the most pathetic piss-poor excuse for a professional footballer I've ever seen.[/quote]
Amen to that
Wasn't a mistake, he wanted to leave, not much we could really do.
Got most of the money back we paid for him anyway.
