You can't change your family, end of the day you may get pissed of and stop talking but the end of the day they are still your family and you'll support them where you agree with decisions or not, its the same with your team, once you've choosen your stuck with erm through thick and thin
If we went down again, crowds would drop down to around the 15k, really don;t think theyd drop that much after that, as long as prices drop mind!!!
If we dropped into league one it might not be so bad, we'd score more goals, win more games, be up the top challenging for promotion, get to visit new grounds..................oh, we said that when we dropped into the championship!
Seriously though i can't imagine not following Charlton. Can't wait for a Tuesday night trip to Carlisle!!
Supported the club in the old third division in which is now the third, would never turn my back on the club, how can you? Anyone that decides to does us all a favour and stop going now,

I would rather the plastics would just piss off
I can understand this view but the fact is is that we need as much revenue as possible at the moment, and as money dwindles the more strain it will place on the club.

I can ....... been to Carlisle enough times over the years, usually to see us hammered - except for two marvellous promotion winning matches & celebrations - "Mike Bailey, Mike Bailey, Mike Baileeeee .....", on the train all the way back to London and 5 years later, Lennie the legend leading us to the promised land of the real 1st Division.
Otherwise, your post sounds just like one of OooAaaaaghs! from a couple of years ago.
I doubt I would retain my season ticket - almost regretting doing so this year. At the moment it feels like 'giving up a weekend because I have to go to Charlton' rather than being something I really look forward to doing. Now it's more a duty than a pleasure. Spending c five hours travelling each way and between £120-£250 on flights for the two of us helps focus the mind in that way, I guess.
I would never, ever be anything but a Charlton fan, though, and imagine I would instead go to more away games up North. So be good to be in the same division as Carlisle in that case.... ;-)
I've seen many, many more 2nd & 3rd tier Charlton games than I have top division. To me and most of the good people on here it makes little difference - We go to support Charlton regardless of the opposition.
Crowds would drop off, we'd lose a few plastics though tbh they already seem to be disappearing, we'd lose a few kids (my son is noticably less enthused these days) but otherwise can't see why anyone would swap teams.
I moved abroad over 5 years ago and love them as much now as I did when I was 8 years old.

If this is aimed at me WIWALB, my comment has gone completely over your head?
[cite]Posted By: Kap10[/cite]You can change wives, girlfriends, pets and houses but you can't (as an adult) change fotball allegieance, may not renew ST though
But then you wouldn't qualify for your free ST when we got promoted back to the Champs....(!)
I'd still go to Charlton if we were in the Conference tbh. I know, I'm one of the mugs they rely upon and I'm probably to blame for the lack of ambition, but my club is my club, nothing I can do.

Fair play fella. I also get frustrated by some of our fans but dont want to see us back in the days of 'Target 10,000' scraping together a respectable crowd and as so am always trying to get new people to come to games, and should the worst happen i will continue to do so. We'll piss League One!

If Charlton ever went bust, then definitely not - We'd start up a replacement wouldn't we!
As Shirty5 said!
AFC Charlton......?
Imagine the Covered End singing "A-F-C-C"

You've done it the hard way, like most of us on here.
Except I don't work with any Carlisle fans, Oggs ;-)
Be more like Newcastle was when in the Prem - the first away fixture to look for and start planning the trip.

Just looking them up on the map to see which city they play in.
