Helguson move off

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
Bolton have pulled the plug on Heidar joining Charlton on loan as it appears Charlton wont afford him when his loan period would have expired in January. Helguson is back training with Bolton.

Can't wait for your post tomorrow Steinsson ;-)
  • one minute your post pleases me the next i am peeed off

    cheers steinsson
  • Shame. I know some say 'why do we want another striker' , but he would have been a short-term answer to the Andy Gray dilemma.

It seems to me the correct thing to do wth Gray would be to say ''off you go home, Andy, you shouldn't have to be worrying about relegation battles at a time like this. Family comes first, our prayers are with you and we'll see you after Xmas'.

Without Helguson around, he will feel the pressure to say 'I'm OK and I feel it's my duty to soldier on' as none of the other strkers offer quite what he does.

Anyone know if he trained Sun and Mon?
  • the dreaded money issue again
  • Paying off Pardew ....... in 12 days.

Parky to the players: "Sorry lads, you can't have sugar in your tea, the club can't afford it now. Mr Murray's got to save up for the old gaffer's holiday fund".
  • This is the second time in a week the Daily Mirror have claimed Charlton have signed a player when they haven't. Last week it was Ian Harte and now this.

    tut tut
  • And they presumably missed the players we did sign....? lol
  • If only there reporting was as good as yours NS

got any gossip for us ? ;-)
  • Whislt I take what all the press say with a pinch of salt, on one hand you have Helguson saying no to the QPR loan cos it would tie him in, then he won't come to us cos we couldn't make it permanent. Don't make him look great does it!!!

  • Good riddance to him (Helguson) - he's never been a prolific scorer anyway

If Gray goes back up North then we've still got 5 strikers on our books and apart from Varney none of them have been given a decent run this season
  • Totally agree with East kent, Helguson is nothing better than anything we've got and is barely a striker in the real sense of the word. He will probably score for them tonight now!!
