Get rid of Pete and get Brian Cole or similar down there.
Play those who have some balls and character if indeed we have 11 on our books.
I stayed until the bitter end and Matty Holland, Nicky Bailey and Moo2 were the only 3 I saw who were man enough to front up and face what was left of the crowd after that debacle.
Start with those 3 and find 8 others one of whom should be Fortune once fit.

Bring back Dennis Rommedahl ........ he always clapped the crowd.
of course we're in a relegation scrap... let's not be in denial, the stats don't lie and nor the performances/results
we all have to wake up to it - fans, players, the club as a whole... until we can get some form of stability back we take this one game at a time. it's grit and work ethic that will take us through this and anyone on the pitch that doesn't show that should be dumped by the wayside. Come on you reds.
Ps. It's lost on me why some seem to perceive admitting we are in the mix as a sign of defeatist "we are going down" etc. it's not at all, it's about realism and the sooner we bin this PR machine that we have all got used to over the last 18 months the better
Well said, I Saw - paticularly ''the sooner we bin this PR machine that we have all got used to over the last 18 months the better'' line.
I know there are some who took the view 'Pardew can spout whatever crap he likes before and after a match, all that counts is what his teams do on the pitch'. But IMHO, after a time there developed a direct link between the two.
If the manager always had a hatful of excuses to explain why it was everybody else's fault, that attitude inevitably spread to the dressing room.
Our problem with Pardew was not blame culture but excuse culture. Because he was so good at excuses, we ended up with a bunch of players similarly reluctant to take responsibility on the pitch and always ready to pass the buck (if not the ball) to someone else. Hence, no leadership on the field, even from those who ought to have been able to give it, like Hudson.
I'm confident that we will see a very different Charlton tomorrow night. IMO, we've not just lost a manager. We've hopefully also lost an attitude that sucked. We were lions being led by a donkey, to use a WWI expression, and here's my prediction : Charlton to stand up and fight like lions tomorrow night and maul a poor QPR side which won't know what has hit them. .
so when you're at a press conference and the member of the press asks you a question, you answer, then wait to see it in print perhaps out of context.
all we see is the sentence in the paper. people were looking for reasons to hate the bloke more, and everything he said could be construed in whichever way people wanted.
I'm not saying that he was right to perhaps say the things he that he did - but i didn't believe that he was deliberately giving excuses to get himself out of a pickle.
I think perhaps sadly some people are going to find out that pardew could be a small piece of the jigsaw that wasn't working, and there are other components that were making it not work.
I don't think just because he's gone were going to start winning 5-0 every game. i'd love that to happen, but i doubt it will.

Come on Suzi - never thought I'd end up telling you to be positive and get behind the team!
Seriously, of course you are right. Everything that was wrong has not been removed at a stroke. But I really do think we are pretty rapidly going to start seeing a vastly improved attitude from some players.
I know - what was I thinking!!! is there a poll up for tmrw cos I want to put down a 5-0 win! :-)

Mr Pard'sy said we weren’t & now Mr Parky say's we are, errrmm so let me see are we in the bottom half= yes, Are we in the bottom 6= yes.
Whoops we are in the bottom 3. In that case obviously we aren’t in a relegation scrap, close our eyes and it will go away.
The truth of the matter is we have resembled a relegation side on & off for a while even last season some of our totally inept performances smacked of a side that wouldn't look out of place at the bottom.
The positive thing is that at least now the relegation word has been accepted by Parkinson and the realisation we have got to scrap for points. At least till we are out of this mess being entertained and pretty football should be bottom of the pile, clean sheets and points are the order of the remainder else Fleetwood won't be the only one spending a day at Brighton.
